With the Coronavirus still spreading globally and now in Ireland, we need to keep our immune system high and our hands clean!
Keeping our immune system strong is important to fight off any illnesses so lets look at some top tips to keeping our immune system healthy.
Vitamin C
You might have heard this tip a million and one times but I cannot stress enough how important it is to take Vitamin C. With the Coronavirus spreading, Vitamin C supplements will build up your immune system and help fight off any unwanted virus.
Vitamin C helps encourage the production of white blood cells, which help protect the body against infection. It also helps these white blood cells function more effectively while protecting them from damage by potentially harmful molecules, such as free radicals.
Fresh Air
It may sound too easy but yes fresh air can help boost your immune system. Fresh air supplies your immune system with the oxygen it needs to fight viruses, infections and germs. It can help clear that nasty bacteria out of your lungs. So no excuses, get down the park with the kids.
Exercise
Physical activity can also clear bacteria out of your lungs.
This may reduce your chance of getting a cold, flu, or other illnesses. Exercise also causes positive changes in white blood cells which are key to fighting off diseases. You know I love the gym but it doesn't have to be the gym, getting out for a walk can give you the exercise and the fresh air in one.
Eat Well
Eat, eat, eat. Get your veggies and fruit in. Yes I'm the queen of the morning smoothies, if you haven't tried one do it, great way to get your goodness into one glass. Healthy eating can provide a natural immune booster for your body. Ensure your diet contains lots of vegetables, fruits, nuts, and seeds, which will provide your body with the nutrients your immune system needs.
Be happy - stay positive
Really guys, I'm not kidding, PUT A SMILE ON YOUR FACE. A positive mental attitude can go along way to keeping you healthy. A healthy brain helps provide a healthy body! Stress can play a huge part in a run down immune system. Try relieve your brain from stress by resting up and staying positive. Your immune system and your mind will thank you for it.
