Say Hello Ruth
Im Ruth Irwin and this is my story…
I grew up in a really sporty family, my dad played football, my mam swam for Guiness, my brother played football for Ireland, Middelsborough, Norwich & Coventry and my sister was an All Ireland irish dancer and now a very successful Makeup artist and I was a gymnast!
I loved basketball in school and went on to college to study Sports & leisure management. After that I qualified as a sports massage therapist. During my studies of anotoamy & physiology I became very interested in nutrition and its effect on the body. This led me to work in a health food store.
I then took up Kick boxing and in between the birth of my 2nd and 3rd son I completed my black belt. After the birth of my 3rd son I went back training and I discovered CrossFit which I instantly loved. There was fitness and competitions and because of my gymnastics background I took to it well.
After 3 years of Crossfit I then discovered Weightlifting. Again I really hit it off and began to enter competitions and really enjoy the buzz, the atmosphere and meeting like minded people. Nutrition was a massive part and with science in recent years it is so important.
After months & months of preparing we decided to go Vegetarian 5 years ago as a family. We are not quite vegans but nearly there! The boys started off and lasted a few months but when they are at parties or out with others they are not but at home they are!!
One day whilst walking the boys to school I had a little moment in terms of putting everything together. From sports training, to cooking food, to making lunches to preparing for competitions from being a mam I decided to try link it all together. I decided to start Healthy Buzz to try help people who want to find the best supplements for training or just everyday living, the most natural bodycare products, for young mothers who want to give their babies, boys & girls best products that are chemical free and natural. I also wanted to give them insight into what kind of foods I eat and give my children and try be a help or give guidance the best I can.
Don't get me wrong I enjoy my nights out & yes I eat chocolate ha ha
Im a busy working Mum trying to have fun on the journey.
I look forward to sharing ideas on all things eco, natural, food and vitamins and keep an eye out for our monthly special offers!
