What is stress?
As much as we today associate the word “stress” negatively, the physical reaction known as the stress response that is triggered by stressful situations is not actually entirely harmful.
In response to stress our muscles tighten and stress hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol are being released. All of this prepares the body for a fight or flee situation that would help you get to safety. In a more ordinary situation, it can improve athleticism or motivation.
But if you happen to constantly get stressed out, the stress response can cause real harm to your body and mind like chronic inflammation which constantly activates the immune system and increases the risk of dementia, heart disease or a stroke.
What are symptoms of stress?
In everyday life, stress can be recognized in physical pain in the head, back or chest, as well as mental problems such as difficulties in concentration and quick decision-making. Other stress symptoms include:
- emotional vulnerability with mood swings and irritability
- general feeling of sadness
- insomnia
- frequent illness
In a stressful situation it is easy to ignore these signs and try to push through the task or difficulty at all costs but stress is not without reason defined as a type of psychological pain. It hurts and you are valid in feeling that pain, whatever way it might express itself.
Ignoring signs of too much stress can only lead to further harm and should be stomped out at their root in the best-case scenario.
How to deal with stress?
The best starting point for doing so is to learn yourself. Learn what triggers stress for you and how you tend to react to that. Some of these causes of stress can be avoided as a whole or slightly modified to be less stressful.
Sometime it helps to just organize everything that needs to be done. Try making lists and be aware of the importance of your tasks. Maybe plan what you want to get done in your day and when that would fit best.
But organisation is not everything and not all stresses can be lessened in such a way. In that case you have no choice but to accept them as they are. The only thing that can be changed is your behaviour around them.
Here are some ideas to do so:
Try relaxation techniques like meditation, guided imagery or exercises for deep breathing. These can help you to lower your blood pressure as well as your breathing and heart rate.
Another thing that could help you relax is Dr. Bronner’s Lavender Range wherein all products are scented with pure lavender and lavender oils that calm the mind and soothe the body. This includes products such as:
- Pure Castile Liquid and Bar Soap
- Organic Hand Sanitiser
- Organic Sugar Soap
- Organic Hair Creme
- Organics Lotions
- Organics Shaving Soap and Hair Crème
These products are also helpful with my next advice of taking a mindful break. Relaxation can come from breaking through the amount of stressful thoughts by being mindful and anchoring yourself in the present moment.
To achieve this, you can try to concentrate and take in everything your senses can pick up on around you while doing something calming. Such as taking a slow shower with the wonderful lavender scent of Dr. Bronner’s soaps or taking an attentive walk.
Taking a walk for even just a short amount each day can work wonders for your stress management and overall health. This goes for every kind of exercise but walking is often the most convenient and it gets you out into nature, to fresh air and sunlight.
To heighten your Vitamin D intake, we also recommend Better You Vitamin D Oral Spray. The spray provides a quick and effective maintenance dosage for adults and teenagers.
Containing only vitamin D and coconut oil, this incredible pure and simple formulation provides optimal nutritional delivery, the micro-sized droplets will coat the soft tissue of the inner cheek and deliver the essential nutrients into the rich vein system below.
This allows the formulation to quickly enter the bloodstream for optimal absorption.
Another helpful exercise is to stretch your muscles that have tensed up under the stress. There are several possible ways to do so but we recommend to search some simple ones that you can do every now and then throughout the day. Even while sitting at your desk.
For example, intertwining your hand behind your back and stretching them as far as you can or grabbing your elbow over your head and stretching it in the opposite direction.
There is one other way of exercising that can be done while sitting down. It is to simply laugh. This has also been once called “internal jogging” by Dr. William Fry and it really just encourages you to watch, read or do something that makes you laugh. It will make you joyous and optimistic about the future. Which is never a bad mindset to adopt.
Coyne Healthcare’s Felix Advanced can help you with doing that. Felix® Advanced is a feel-good supplement with a highly specialised saffron extract made from the saffron crocus.
Saffron is well known for its culinary gift as a spice and has also traditionally been used for centuries as a medicine in ancient Persia to help enhance mood and relieve stress. In combination with the mood-enhancing properties of BCM-95® it helps to maintain a positive, healthy mood and relieve mood swings!
In the same lane, you should also try to counter negative thoughts with positive ones. Especially if it concerns yourself. Being self-critical will only lead to further stress so you should try being more self-affirming and praise yourself. Try to find good things in each stressful day and be mindful of them.
Something that doesn’t concern your personal thoughts but rather your surroundings is to reduce loud noise that might make it hard to think for you. In case of traffic or other unavoidable sounds, you could use earplugs or noise-cancelling headphones.
You could also use these to listen to soothing music that can help you further relax. But you have to make sure that the music is fitting and that you actually give it attention. Having mindless background noise on will not help you relieve stress. If done right music will be able to help you.
More generally speaking, a good sleep schedule and healthy eating with a lot of plant-based meals will improve your overall stress resistance. For this, we can recommend Coyne Healthcare Vitamin B Complex.
This product combines all the individual Vitamin B’s in a new formulation to give you all their individual benefits in one. Because of that Coyne Vitamin B can improve the function of your brain and nerve cells and strengthen your muscles as these are advantages of Vitamin B12 and B1 respectively.
You should also always take good care of your social contacts. Going out and meeting up with friends can always boost your mood and maybe get you through tough times.
Don’t be afraid to ask for help from friends like these. There is no problem in getting someone to listen to your struggles or asking for a bit of help with a stressful task.
Do stress balls or similar toys work for you? Don’t shy away from trying them out but be careful not to get too distracted by them.
It might also help you to engage in a creative outlet like journaling your thoughts of the day or painting to calm yourself. Don’t try to perfect these media as that would be counteractive. Let the progress of being creative make you relax.
And lastly, try to be more mindful of the reality of your task. How much does it really matter in the grand scheme of things? Some things are built up in our mind to be so very big and impossible when in reality they might not even be so important and not worth so much stress over them.

]]>As we know, November also known as No Shave November is to make men aware about the various health issues that can face and how they need to treat their body and health first. On 19th November we celebrate International Men’s Day which aims at three important points:
Let’s face it, society has framed our mindset in a certain way. If we ask for help and support we are fragile and weak. This is a thought process which not only affect women into behaving life damsel in distress, but puts pressure on men to stay strong and macho even if they need help and attention, leading to them not being able to ask for help.
At Healthy Buzz, we not only provide products for men and women, but we also provide the essential advice that they require and provide any guidance to make your life easier. We send love to everyone who is struggling mentally, suffer with suicidal thoughts, are scared to speak up, are feeling alone, or feeling dismissed by society. We are happy to help you and know that we will always be there for you. You are not alone!
As we said, November is the month dedicated to men. It is also called ‘No Shave November’ or ‘Movember’, a movement that focuses on health issues that affect men, such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health. It’s important to make sure we take care of our health and go for regular check ups, stay active, get our vitamins and supplements, eat natural foods and follow a healthy diet.
We are care about your health and below are some ways in which you can improve your health, both mentally and physically:
1. Protect yourself
Yes, we know. It seems like an obvious and unimportant piece of advice, but it isn’t. Protecting yourself from all external agents is important for your health and well-being. Use helmets, goggles, seatbelts, sunscreen and insect repellents. Most importantly: washing frequently is the safest thing you can do to protect yourself from any illness, discomfort and disease.
We want you to take care of yourself, which is why we recommend one of our fantastic products: Dr. Bronner’s Organic Magic Balm - Baby Mild
It can be applied in a variety of ways, to moisturize dry hands, to protect and bright new and old tattoos, to moisturize the skin after shaving, for glossy hair sets.
Try it out and let us know if you feel better. We will be grateful and happy!
2. Protect your prostate
Obviously, the prostate grows with age and it may cause you problems and changes in urinary habits. To avoid the risk of enlargement or cancer it’s good to have frequent check ups and follow a balanced, nutritious low-fat diet.
3. Eat better
Try to eat foods that are good for you, such as fruit and green vegetables. But that doesn’t mean that you have to eat only those, because our body requires other energies as well. My advice is, to consult a nutritionist who, understands your needs, will create a tailor-made diet for you.
Let’s take the leap and recommend one of our incredible products: Coyne Healthcare’s Biomax Glutathione Liposomal. This ‘master antioxidant’, is made in our body and we can get through diet (spinach, avocados and asparagus). It’s gentle and gut-friendly with superior bioavailability.
4. Get regular check ups
Unfortunately, people avoid regular check ups due to fear or because they are busy. But trust us, get it into your head.. prevention is better than cure! You don't necessarily have to organize a doctor’s appointment every month, but regular check ups would help you better manage your health and detect early signs of serious or less serious illnesses.
Being honest with your doctor is the most important thing in such cases, because then they will know what to do. The more they know the better
5. Manage stress
Prolonged stress over time could lead to many problems for your health: it alters the immune system, causes skin diseases, memory lapses and in severe cases even heart problems.
My advice is to always take time for yourself every day, do something you enjoy and makes you happy. Take deep breaths, think positive, go out with friends, discover new places, enjoy the moment, listen to music, exercise. There are so many things you can do for yourself!
Another key to managing stress is undoubtedly to get plenty of rest and sleep. Doctors recommend getting at least 7 or 9 hours of sleep every night.
A supplement I swear to is Coyne Healthcare’s Biomax Activated Vitamin B.CO Liposomal.
It supports a healthy nervous system and helps the body adapt to stress. Delivers a full and potent complex utilizing specialized liposomal technology.
Another supplement I recommend to everyone is Coyne Healthcare Felix/Affron. It is a mood improvement supplement which helps ith maintaining a positive mood, relieve mood swings and also help provide support to stress eaters.
6. Get some exercise
Physical exercises are great for keeping your body strong and healthy. If you are a beginner, don’t be afraid to ask a professional for advice and support. They tend to reduce the risk of heart disease, which is the leading cause of death in men. A good thing would be to exercise with a friend or a group of people, so you will be more motivated.
Along with physical exercises, I recommend a products that will help you exercise and get healthier: Coyne Healthcare’s Purest Omega-3.
It supports heart health, healthy blood lipids and may reduce blood vessel inflammation which leads to heart disease. Try our Purest Omega-3 and let us know!
Remember that we are here for you and don’t hesitate to ask us for advice or any kind of help or support. Raise awareness this month and always help others!
]]>Benefits of washing hands daily
Washing your hands on a daily basis is very important since many times your hands may appear to be clean but in reality they could have germs. This is because our hands tend to pick up germs in different ways, whether it's from a sneeze, a cough, or when we pick up an object.
Washing your hands correctly is the most effective thing you can do to protect yourself and others from numerous diseases. Not only will it keep you healthy, but it will prevent you from various infectious diseases such as the common cold, flu.
If you don't wash your hands properly before coming into contact with others, you can infect them with the germs on your hands. People can also get sick by touching objects that have been touched by unwashed hands, such as door handles, keyboards, mobile phones and many more.
Importance of washing hands during Covid
Covid is almost gone but doesn’t mean we do not take care of our hygiene and health. Washing our hands avoids the risk of getting sick and also of infecting other people.
During covid our hand washing routine has increased not only to maintain maximum hygiene habits but also to prevent diseases caused by viruses and bacteria.
To understand the importance of washing our hands we have to know that our hands are a paradise for all kinds of microorganisms: bacteria, viruses, and fungi.
Having good hygiene creates a significant barrier to entry for these infectious agents.
Our hands touch everything, in addition our surface of the hands are hot and humid with traces of sweat and skin peeling so they become like a magnet for microorganisms.
When touching any object, we leave behind the so-called 'microbial footprint', a footprint that contaminates the next person we touch, which contributes to the multiplication of microorganisms if you have not washed your hands beforehand.
Children going back to school
Washing hands is extremely important for our kids. Since school and college have started, they are one of the most vulnerable groups of diseases in the population since they are constantly touching pets, toys, food, floors, bringing their hands to their faces or mouths etc.
Washing our hands eliminates bacteria and viruses and interrupts the chain of transmission of pneumonia, skin diseases, eye or intestinal diseases.
To minimize risks
Tips for washing hands
To fight germs, it is really important that hands are not washed with water only, it is essential to use soap, for this I highly recommend Dr. Bronner’s Organic Pump Soaps, Pure Castile Liquid Soaps and Pure Castile Bar soaps. Their soaps deeply cleanse your skin, leaving them smelling amazing and spotless.
This is because they are made with pure organic oils, and certified organic ingredients. Therefore, it hydrates your skin while cleaning it and giving it an aromatic touch depending on the scent you choose.
A little bit more about my recommended product to wash your hands:

This product is not only good for your hands but has 18 other uses ranging from hair, house and pet care, making it the perfect product for the environment and your pocket.
Biodegradable, created from natural ingredients, super concentrated formula which means that it offers greater efficacy than other soaps, it respects your skin without causing any type of irritation. Perfect for family use. Dr Bronner contains hemp for a softer foam and a greater sensation of hydration.
Organic and fair trade, they do not contain detergents or synthetic preservatives. Great for the most sensitive skin and those suffering from eczema. It is the most moisturizing product. Dr. Bronner’s Organic Sugar Soap also includes Organic Sucrose and Organic Shikakai Powder, making it much thicker and more moisturizing than Pure-Castile Liquid Soap.

]]>Let’s talk about plant based milk! What is it?
Firstly, plant based milk is a substitute for cow’s milk, which doesn’t contain lactose. Secondly, it has an excellent taste and low fat content. In most cases, plant based milk is preferred to cow’s milk for many reasons, such as lactose intolerance, celiac disease and following a vegetarian or vegan diet.
Most cow’s milk production takes a huge toll on the environment. It needs a lot of fossil fuels, water and land, which leads to deforestation and soil erosion. For those who care about health, animal welfare and the environment, switching from cow’s milk to plant based milk is a good choice!
We remind you that plant based milk is an absolutely nutritionally complete foodstuff! The protein, vitamin and mineral quota is almost always excellent and provides the body with all the nutrients it needs.
But what are the benefits of plant based milk? How is it good for your health?
Did you know that cow’s milk contains 12 grams of carbohydrates from lactose sugars? If you are on a well-balanced diet, it’s time to switch to plant based milk, which contains only one gram of carbohydrates.
Unlike the cow’s milk, plant based milk has 37% to 75% less fat, even if some nutritional aspects are similar to cow’s milk, such as sodium and potassium.
In addition, many varieties of plant based milk are lower in calories than cow’s milk. The varieties may be almond, rice, coconut, hemp and cashew milk.
We would like to introduce you to our
1) Alpro - Coconut Milk for Professionals 12x1L
Alpro Coconut Milk for Professionals is especially for professional baristas, as it makes the job easier in creating excellent latte art. It has a refreshing taste, thanks to the addition of the main ingredient, the coconut.
Still not convinced? We list its benefits!
Below we suggest another of our delicious Alpro products,
2) Alpro Oat Milk for Professionals 12x1L.
This oat milk will make your coffee taste even better! It contains only naturally occurring sugars, with none added.
If you stop and think for a moment, plant based milk is totally hormone-free, as it isn’t produced by animals! While in cow’s milk there is a lot of hormone oestrogen, because cows produce their own milk during pregnancy and lactation. Plant based milk is our friend, whereas oestrogen is bad for our health!
For example, oat milk contains a real source of riboflavin and in some fortified plant based milks you can find more calcium than cow’s milk! Walks in Oatly Barista
3) Oatly Barista Oat Drink Foamable 10x250ml
This Barista Edition oat drink is made with liquid oats and is not overly sweet or heavy. If you’re a professional barista, we can reassure you by telling you that it’s completely foamable, so you can make your latte art easier. While for those of you who aren’t baristas like me, you can taste it however you like!
Last but not least, we find that plant based milk doesn’t contain cholesterol, it has a healthy combination of mono- and polyunsaturated fats, it contains a high vitamin B and is perfect for people with a slow digestive system, constipation problems and irritable bowel syndrome.
Plant based milk reduces carbon footprint, as no animals are needed to produce it. Switch to an eco-friendlier choice!
Cow’s milk needs a lot of land for grazing and food, but these lead to deforestation, which affects climate change. On the other hand, plant based milk needs little space for growing plants. This offers a huge reduction in land use!
The amount of water used to produce plant based milk averages 50% less water than that of cow’s milk. And we’ve said it all!
This type of plant based milk is the best known and most popular, but why?
It’s one of the most nutritious and is suitable for all those people who have low energy and need a food supplement. Its benefits are:
Oat plant based milk is an excellent drink for those who want to take care of themselves and lose weight. The benefits:
You can make it yourself and make it unique… Incredible!
Preparing it isn’t difficult, as long as the main ingredient is ground into a powder and then blended with water and flavourings.
Here’s a tip! When you prepare them at home, remember to enrich them with nutrients such as calcium, vitamin D, potassium, etc. as you like!
Let us know how your unique and special plant based milk turns out!

]]>Anxiety disorders often include sudden episodes of intense anxiety, fear, or terror that peak within minutes (panic attacks). Anxiety can be a big problem for people with fear of speaking about their problems to others, for this reason we need to offer support to solve as many problems as we can. Acute anxiety occurs in brief episodes that end quickly. Chronic anxiety is maintained over time.
What are the causes of anxiety?
The fundamental causes are genetic factors, with a predisposition to the disorder, although its exact contribution and the type of education in childhood and personality are unknown, with those people with difficulty coping with stressful events presenting a greater risk.
Among the precipitating factors of the disease would be stressful events, in particular difficulties in interpersonal relationships, physical illnesses and work problems.
Some commonly diagnostic anxiety disorders are:
Often people don’t want to diagnosis their disorders, but it still might be useful to learn more about these issues earlier to help you think about your own experiences of anxiety, and consider options of support.
what are the symptoms of anxiety
What are the most common symptoms?
Sides effects in ours body
At the beginning we can feel stomach pain, nausea or digestive trouble. Also we can have headaches and insomnia or other sleep issues (walking up, for example) . In our everyday routine, feeling weak or fatigued can be normal when anxiety is on our bodys. Another side effect can be rapid breathing or shortness of breath and that can make us pound our heart or increase heart rate.
How people avoid talking about it.
When someone asks how you are doing, "I'm Grand" is the most common answer. We think that people won't want to listen if we aren't feeling the best. But we are wrong. There is always someone here to listen. Today we can go to many places to ask for help, try to lose the fear and look for a solution soon. Our answer in these situations, normally is the same: I'm good, with little problems but good. For that, when we want to talk with someone, maybe it can be late, because the problem has already become bigger. In Dublin we can find a lot of places to find help and solve this type of personal problems immediately.
Diet can be a big factor with anxiety so make sure you are eating healthy, getting enough water & not too much alcohol. Also try to get your full 8 hours sleep, sleep deprivation can be a killer. In the same way, Healthy Buzz would offer you some supplements to combat anxiety and their symptoms. We are talking about: Coyne Healthcare Felix, Biomax Magnesium Unflavoured and Bio Canna.
The saffron extract for mood improvement with the largest number of published studies on the markets, Felix with affron can contribute to maintaining a positive healthy mood, relieve mood swings and provide support to stress eaters. Saffron extract may help with mood, stress, anxiety, sleep, cognition, vigor and vitality, as well as relaxation, mental and physical balance and maintaining a positive, feel-good mood.
Coyne Healthcare - Biomax Magnesium Unflavoured
Biomax Magnesium Optimal Delivery is a highly absorbable and bioavailable magnesium supplement. Containing both magnesium citrate (known to be more readily absorbed than some other forms of magnesium) and liposomal magnesium (which provides sustained time release), this powerful product gives you results that are both fast-acting and long-lasting. To say enough to anxiety symptoms, make sure you have Bio-Magnesium in your house. The one-a-day formula also supports heart, bone and nervous system health, reduces muscle cramps, tension & stiffness when dietary intake is inadequate.
Coyne Healthcare Bio- Canna CBD Oil
While cannabis and its phytocannabinoids have many health benefits, it has low oral bioavailability. This means the majority of cbd taken through oral supplements is either not absorbed or broken down by the liver before it reaches general circulation. Science has demonstrated that up to 94 percent of cbd taken in commonly consumed supplements is not available in the bloodstream. Our product may help to reduce pain by acting on a variety of biological processes in the body. CBD has been shown to work as an anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and analgesic. Bio-Canna professional cbd may also reduce the anxiety that people living with chronic pain often experience.

Eating health, practicing sports, staying hydrated and taking quality products to take care of our body will help us live a good life. When we refer to products to help us with our physical health we refer to Coyne Healthcare Biomax Vitamin C, Biomax Glutathione etc but when we refer to mental health we mean Coyne Healthcare Bio-Canna CBD oil, Emerald Farm CBD range or many other CBD oils available on our website.
What is cbd?
CBD, better known as Cannabidiol, is a popular natural remedy used for many common illnesses. The main psychoactive cannabinoid found in cannabis is Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), in simpler words it means, the sensation of getting high. However, unlike THC, CBD is not psychoactive. Once extracted from the cannabis plant, it is diluted with a carrier such as olive or coconut oil that improves its bioavailability.
Studied for its potential role in easing the symptoms of many common health conditions including anxiety, stress and neurological disorder, cbd oils have been effective. The oil is also knowing to benefit heart health and relieve some types of pain.
In today’s time, cbd continues to gain momentum in the wellness world, with some health studies finding that it is also effective to ease signs of chronic pain and anxiousness. But you might be wondering if this is the right choice for you? We will explain to you how you can use it and, obviously, its benefits.
1. May relieve the pain.
CBD products have been used to treat pain signs since forever. Recently, studies have shown that certain components of cannabis, including cbd is liable for pain relieving effects. The human body contains a specific system which is involved in regulating our sleep, appetite, pain sensation and immune system response.
2. Could reduce some symptoms related to some mental health disorders
Mental health disorders such as stress, anxiety, etc can have an overwhelming impact on our overall well-being. Mental health disorders are often treated with medicines which can cause side effects such as insomnia, headaches, sexual dysfunction amongst many more.
CBD oil is a treatment which has shown promise for mental health disorders such as anxiety and stress, leading many who live with these conditions to become interested in a more natural approach. A study showed, 57 men receiving either CBD through an oral form or a placebo 90 minutes before they underwent a simulated public speaking test. The studies found that a 300 mg dose of CBD was the most effective at significantly reducing anxiety during the test.
3. CBD is good for Heart Health
Studies have found that CBD oil has several benefits from heart and circulatory system to the ability to lower high blood pressure. High blood pressure is usually linked to a number of health conditions like stroke, heart attacks and metabolic syndrome. By taking CBD oil, it may help with high blood pressure.
In a study, 9 healthy men were given 600mg of CBD oil. The treatment reduced the blood pressure compared to the placebo. In the same study, the 9 men also took part in stress tests that usually increase your blood pressure. Fascinatingly, the single dose of CBD oil led the men to experience a smaller blood pressure increase than normal in response to these tests.
4. Others potential benefits
CBD has been studied for this role in treating a number of health issues other than those outlined above. Though more studies are needed, cbd is through to provide the following health benefits:

]]>But let’s not focus on the past but concentrate on the brighter and positive future. With restrictions finally coming to an end we are able to enjoy life as if nothing ever really happened. We can enjoy a beautiful sunset or a swim in the cold chill waters of Ireland or even hit the gym.
We have been raving about Vitamin D on our social media platforms, did you notice if not here you go!!! It is very important to intake a Vitamin D supplement to help you build your immunity so that you can enjoy these normal times.
Since we already intake various other supplements, we would like to introduce you to an oral spray which is as effective as a capsule. We find the spray fabulous especially with kids, so easy to get it into them.
The main question arises, why increase the intake of Vitamin D when we receive it from natural sunlight. Ireland is in the Northern Hemisphere hence sunlight is limited especially in the winter months when the sun sets earlier.
We get natural sunlight maybe 4-5 months in a year and hence it is important to take Vitamin D supplements to stay healthy and active. We must take advantage of that and enjoy the few months that we have natural sunlight and get benefits like prevention of some dermatological diseases or just look more tan, but we also have to take precautions of damage it can cause us.
It´s common to people think about the only source of Vitamin D is provided by the sun. But that´s not true. We can obtain Vitamin D from different ways and is not strictly necessary the sunlight for that and being exposed to strong solar radiation could be harmful for our skin and our health.
People in countries where the sunlight is scarce usually have Vitamin D deficiency. This is due to the way we get that nutrient, as we said, firstly by the sunlight and by our diet to a lesser extent. That is the principal reason why Irish people should look for another Vitamin D source, one of our most powerful defences against foreign invaders and an essential controller of our immune system.
Besides, living in a cold country could increase the probability to get a weather-related illness, so Vitamin D plays an important role to support our body to achieve a stable wellness. Without it, we could endanger teeth, bones and gut health. It’s vital to the proper functioning of our immune system and nervous system. A Vitamin D deficiency also could impede a pregnancy due to the woman would decrease the production of ovules.
One of the most recommended methods to boost the immune system of Irish people is to increase our intake of Vitamin D. Although the sunlight is not with us, we must focus our nutrition on products rich on Vitamin D, like salmon, whole milk, butter or eggs among other food. It’s also fundamental to know your Vitamin D levels and help your body to get it with the proper supplementation.

Vitamin D helps regulate the amount of calcium and phosphate in the body. These nutrients are needed to keep bones, teeth and muscles healthy. A lack of vitamin D can lead to bone deformities such as rickets in children, and bone pain caused by a condition called osteomalacia in adults.
Your body produces Vitamin D naturally when directly exposed to sunlight but that is never enough. Consumption of the right foods and supplements helps in boosting Vitamin D in your body.
Using Vitamin D oral spray has proven to have up to 228% higher blood reading compared to tablets, while a study found that Better DLux Vitamin D oral sprays guaranteed a better nutritional dosage than capsules.

Before sharing our tips and recommendations about the protection and how to boost your immune system, we want to introduce pointers on how to build your immunity and fight away these fears and hazards.
Immune system is a net of interconnected tissues, organs and cells which guard and respond to any menace, also known as ‘antigens’ (word more than known during these times), that our body can face. This action of defence is named ‘immune response’ and it´s vital for our health.
There are several ways to boost ourselves all while improving our immune system:
- Taking care of our nutrition:
Having a nice and balanced diet is primary for your immune system. Vegetables and whole-grains foods are antioxidant and nutrient-rich. That type of foods can also help you to strengthen your gut.
Healthy fats are crucial to treat infections, so these act as anti-inflammatory. Olive oil or omega-3 fatty acids like chia seeds are glaring examples of this.
It´s important to reduce or cut-out sugar intake as well as red meat. These foods are enemies to our gut, there are heavy and could weaken our immunity.
- Get enough sleep:
It´s empirically proven that sleeping is actually associated with our immune system. An adult may sleep more than 7 hours per day to avoid risks and not fall ill.
While we are sleeping, our body produces cytokines, a protein that sends information to our immune system at night. Adequate sleep strengthens your body against possible infections.
In fact, getting enough sleep will help you wake up to more energy and help you focus on the whole day.
- Minimize stress:
When we think of our body, we tend to give less importance to our mental health. That’s definitely wrong; we must give the mind the same importance as the physical.
Many activities can reduce stress but it’s so important to express it and talk with a professional about your mental condition. Your body will thank you if you take care of your mental health.
Having a good mental health would let you to achieve your goals and improve your wellness day to day.
- Doing sports:
Keep your body fit is not only to show a smart appearance. Getting yourself in sports will make your immune system stronger and active. It’s not necessary to do strenuous trainings, but a moderate exercise routine, like going for a walk or riding a bike, will improve your activity and well-being.
Physical activity can help your respiratory system and your lungs to remove some bacteria. This may reduce the chances to getting a cold, flu or other illness.
- Maintain a healthy weight:
Doing sports and taking care of our nutrition will not only help us to boost our immune system. Another benefit is to maintain ourselves on a healthy weight.
Constant loosing and gaining weight could damage your body and your immune system wouldn’t be stable. You can know your ideal weight by your age and height through the indicator or Body Mass Index (BMI) and realize if you are doing the right work.
To maintain a healthy weight, we don´t have to think on how much do we weigh; we must worry about our fat ratios and any kind of danger that our body can face.
- Keep your body hydrated:
Around 70 per cent of our body is made up of water. Water is the human fuel, our power. Health experts recommend drinking at least 2L of water per day. It’s necessary to drink this amount of liquid to prevent dehydration.
Although tea or juice can prevent dehydration, there are not recommended unless these products are sugar free.
- Get vaccinated from some diseases:
As we said before, COVID is not the only risk what we are facing. Vaccines are remedies to prevent a disease and help your immune system to continue working right.
With vaccines, our bodies learn how to defend itself. COVID vaccine doesn´t make you immune to the virus, but it can drastically reduce its effects, so it´s highly recommended by healthy experts.
Over the years, vaccines were one of the most important creations of humans. Measles or smallpox, two of the hardest virus infections at all times, was stopped in the past by vaccines.
- Combine your daily habits with supplementation:
Using supplements don´t have to be your last option. Supplementation is made to complement all named habits.
Let us give a few ideas about the most effective products for your immune system:
Coyne Healthcare - Biomax Vitamin C
Fruits and vegetables tend to be good sources of Vitamin C. This vitamin is essential to growth and development, in addition to play an important role in tissue repair.

Coyne Healthcare’s Biomax Vitamin C LIPOSOMAL®, is more bioactive and non-acidic Vitamin C than standard Vitamin C products. There isn’t only give you all benefits of Vitamin C, in addition, these capsules provide you Phosphatidylcholine, one of the most important phospholipids required for many vital functions in maintaining a healthy cardiovascular, reproductive, immune, and nervous system.
Coyne Healthcare - Biomax Glutathione Liposomal
Your immune system can be boosted with antioxidant products. In this case, Biomax Glutathione Liposomal, considered as the next generation innovation in glutathione supplementation, acts as an antioxidant or, more specifically: the “master antioxidant”.

]]>Even the things that make winter wonderful, such as sitting by a roaring fire, can dry your skin, and though taking a hot shower might seem like a good way to warm up, hot water dries out your skin by stripping it of its natural oils.
But there are many simple ways to combat the causes of dry winter skin and help keep your skin feeling moist and supple all season long, including some easy changes to your everyday routine.
Here are some tips to keep in mind when it comes to effective winter skincare, so that you can feel your best all winter long.
To counter the drying effects of indoor heat we suggest investing in a humidifier. You can use a portable or table top model or one that integrates with your existing heating system. Using a humidifier in your home or office will add moisture to dry winter air and help keep your skin hydrated. Run a humidifier in the rooms you spend the most time in, including your bedroom.
It may be tempting to take a long, steamy shower, but your skin will be much better-served with a 5- to 10-minute lukewarm shower (or bath) as the natural oils your skin produces also help protect it and keep it healthy.
You should also avoid using excessively hot water when washing your hands for the same reasons. Washing your hands in cooler water appears to be as effective at removing germs as warm water and is less irritating to skin. And if you're using a restroom air hand-dryer, use it just until your hands are damp rather than perfectly dry.
It's a good idea to trade in your current body wash for a more moisturizing hydrating cleanser in winter particularly if your usual choice contains drying ingredients like glycolic or salicylic acid. With no added fragrance and double the olive oil, Dr. Bronner’s Baby Unscented Pure-Castile Bar Soap is good for sensitive skin - babies too (though not tear-free!). Dr. Bronner's Pure Castile Bar Soap is made with certified fair trade ingredients and organic hemp oil for a soft, smooth lather that won't dry your skin. 100% biodegradable in a 100% post-consumer recycled wrapper. Tone and moisturize within 30 seconds of finishing cleansing to avoid further dehydration.
During the winter months, choose cream-based cleansers, for example Kinvara Absolute Cleansing Oil is a hot cloth face cleanser made only from 100% plant oils that contains no harsh chemicals. It contains an innovative blend of skin loving plant oils to restore balance and cleanse your skin, gently and effectively. It also removes make-up, even stubborn mascara, effortlessly. Daily use will leave you feeling fresh faced, fabulous and a step closer to great skin.
Apply toners and astringents sparingly, if at all: many astringents contain alcohol, which can further dry your skin. When your skin is dry and itchy stop using products that contain alcohol and fragrances in order to help your skin retain its natural oils. Consider overnight deep moisturizer treatments which can help particularly dry areas like hands feet elbows knees and lips. Cover with cotton gloves and socks to hold the moisture in all night long.
And don’t forget your lips: applying a moisturizing balm can help heal dry, cracked lips and keep them from getting chapped. If, however, your lip product causes a stinging or tingling sensation, try switching to a different product.
Such as Dr. Bronner's Organic Lip Balms, made with organic beeswax, provide a protective barrier to the elements without any synthetic ingredients. Organic jojoba, avocado and hemp oils help with extra moisturization. Fragrance free. Certified organic to USDA National Organic Program standards, because what you put on your lips goes into your body.
Maintain healthy skin by moisturizing after washing up preferably using a cream or ointment in the winter, lotions are better in warmer, humid climates. Hand-washing is vital, especially during cold and flu season, but constant washing will cause the skin to be damaged.
Applying a hand cream after each washing can help, for example Lavera Neutral Hand Cream is a nourishing intensive hand cream especially formulated for very sensitive skin. This 100% natural hand cream uses a combination of organic evening primrose oil and organic shea butter to provide hydration and protection to sensitive skin. It is fragrance free to minimise irritation and has been tested on people with skin conditions such as eczema, rosacea and psoriasis. It helps to gradually restore a healthier appearance in sensitive hands and prevents your hands from becoming dry thanks to formula rich in essential fatty acids. Parabens free.
On bright winter days, snow reflects the sun’s rays — up to 80 percent, according to the Skin Cancer Foundation — increasing your risk of exposure. That means whether you’re out on the slopes, playing in the snow, or just walking through a parking lot on an errand run, it’s just as important to be applying sunscreen in the harsh winter weather as it is in the summer. And don’t be fooled by darker, dreary days in winter, either. The sun’s harmful UV rays can permeate clouds and still cause damage.
Before you go outside, apply a moisturizing, broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or higher to all exposed areas of your body such as: Jason’s Mineral Based Natural Sunblock SPF 30 An all-mineral sun screen that is chemical and fragrance free, provides UVA and UVB protection and creates a natural barrier to protect skin against sun burn. The easy-to-rub in formula won’t leave a white film on skin like most mineral sun screens do and is hypoallergenic making it ideal for sensitive skin. It is also safer for use on babies over six months of age.
Many cold-weather fabrics can aggravate dry winter skin: we’ve all had to deal with itchy wool Christmas jumpers at one point or another, so it won’t be hard to believe that keeping that material from touching your skin will be beneficial and avoid irritations.
Instead, wear light layers made from soft, breathable materials directly against your skin, and then pull on your heavier, warmer sweaters. Be sure to protect your hands from cold winter air with gloves or mittens, remembering to choose a pair that won’t irritate your skin. If you prefer wool gloves, put on cotton or silk glove liners first. Wearing wet clothes and shoes can further irritate your skin and cause itchiness. If gloves, socks, and pants become wet, be sure to remove them as soon as possible.

We may feel joy seeing the recipient’s reaction or feel loved when the recipient expresses gratitude. We sometimes feel a vague satisfaction knowing that we’ve done something good. Not only are all these feelings great, but there are scientifically proven benefits to gift giving.
Gift giving is an important part of human psychology. From improving mental health to increasing happiness and lifespan, acts of kindness and gift giving are important for many different reasons.
Think about all the times we’ve complained about stress, anxiety, and a lack of happiness in our lives. We’ve all felt those low and unpleasant emotions and wondered what we can do to cheer ourselves up. If adding acts of kindness into our daily routines can help all these things, it could be a great first step towards making a real change in our lives.
One particularly relevant study comes from the University of British Columbia.
In this study, highly anxious individuals started incorporating 6 acts of kindness into their week. One month in, the findings spoke for themselves. Increases in positive moods, relationship satisfaction, and decreases in social avoidance from socially anxious individuals.
We may not think of gift giving as a particularly complex human behavior, but this New York Times article elucidates the psychological role and impact of giving gifts:
“Gift giving is a surprisingly complex and important part of human interaction, helping to define relationships and strengthen bonds with family and friends. Indeed, psychologists say it is often the giver, rather than the recipient, who reaps the biggest psychological gains from a gift.”
Their findings suggest that not only is gifting beneficial, but it’s an intrinsic human tendency that serves a distinct psychological and evolutionary purpose. Interestingly, they also found some gender differences in gift giving, even at a young age, suggesting societal tendencies and attitudes towards gift giving are deeply ingrained.
Kindness has been shown to increase self-esteem, empathy and compassion, and improve mood. It can decrease blood pressure and cortisol, a stress hormone, which directly impacts stress levels. People who give of themselves in a balanced way also tend to be healthier and live longer. Kindness can increase your sense of connectivity with others, which can directly impact loneliness, improve low mood and enhance relationships in general. It also can be contagious. Looking for ways to show kindness can give you a focus activity, especially if you tend to be anxious or stressed in some social situations.
One surprising find from Harvard Health is the role of self-kindness in gift giving. One of the biggest barriers to acts of kindness towards others is the detriment of self-criticism or self-image. People who don’t think they are worth receiving a gift often struggle with accepting gifts, giving gifts, and the concept of gifting in general.

]]>To help you stay healthy during the winter, we have compiled some tips to help maintain your health during the colder months of the year. But always remember that your mental health is just as important as your physical one so don’t neglect it!
Though the short days and cold weather may tempt you to stay cuddled up in bed, it’s important that you keep exercising regularly. The benefits it can bring to your physical and mental health are just too good to ignore!
You don’t even have to go out and do outdoor activities like running if you don’t fancy the cold and wet weather, you can just sign up to a gym or develop an indoor training plan.
Or even better you could join some fun indoor activities that will get you fit in no time such as dance lessons, indoor rock climbing or even a martial arts course! You’re never too old to begin something new after all!
Don't want to miss your favourite show? Try jogging or hopping on the spot or even just stretching while you watch. Try getting active by gardening, cleaning, washing your pets or dancing. Have fun getting healthy in the comfort of your warm home. Use a fitness tracker to make sure you are keeping your steps in count. Set a goal to achieve the same number of steps you would complete over the summer months.
This one is equally as important as it is obvious: pull out your warm and cosy winter clothes!
If you find yourself shivering endlessly beneath the beating force of winter’s frigid winds or soaking wet after a cold shower of rain, then you really ought to invest in a nice coat, a pair of gloves and a scarf, along with an umbrella or a raincoat.
We also recommend plenty of hot drinks and at least one hot meal to stave off the cold during the day. Black and green tea are rich in polyphenols, some of which are called flavonoids, which have antioxidant effects.
Studies have shown that people who drink tea regularly, have healthier blood and lower the risk of heart diseases. Of course, many people drink tea to stay healthy but you need to eat healthy as well like green vegetables and fruits.
Nobody enjoys being cold or wet and avoiding that fate is sure to improve both your mood and your health while you go about your daily routine like walking the dog or going to work.
Warm weather is commonly associated with thirst as the scorching sun makes us feel dehydrated but it’s equally as important to stay hydrated during cold weather as well. Water helps to clean our system and remove toxins, carry nutrients to the body cells and helps balance body fluid.
Try to keep a bottle of water in sight at all times to remind yourself to drink water throughout the day. Also remember that semi-liquid foods such as soups and cuppas can help you increase your fluid intake as well but is not a replacement!
On a similar note, remember to keep moisturising and use a lip balm to protect your lips from the cold. It’s a good idea to carry moisturizing lotion with you as it’s common for our hands to get dry and cracked when it’s colder. As mentioned earlier, staying hydrated will also help you protect your skin during winter.
We recommend Dr. Bronner’s Organic Lip Balm and Organic Body Lotion to keep your body hydrated!
Though unpopular, the truth is that alcohol can have severe collateral effects on our health. It can damage our sleep patterns, mood and energy levels thus increasing our stress and tiredness. Alcohol can also do serious long term damage such as increasing the likelihood of strokes, high blood pressure and heart and liver diseases.
Obviously quitting alcohol is the best option but merely reducing the amount you drink will have benefits for you, both in the moment and later on in life.
Another vice we would suggest you quit is smoking as it makes individuals more susceptible towards respiratory infections in winter along with several others long and short term health problems.
Although it may seem like a contradiction of our first suggestion we recommend getting plenty of sleep at night, especially if you’re following our first point as it will allow your muscles to recover.
Winter months is the perfect time to catch up on your sleep. An average adult requires 7-8 hours’ of sleep each day. During winter days, you can change your sleep patterns to keep yourself healthy and warm.
A good amount of sleep helps to keep the body's immune system healthy, eliminates stress hormone cortisol and burns calories.
Speaking of stress, studies have linked high stress levels to making a person more susceptible to catching colds and flu. Try to minimize your stress by working reasonable hours and use your spare time to alone or with friends and family. Develop healthy habits and avoid stress!
Sleep is a non-negotiable factor for maintaining both your physical and mental health.
Obviously we have all had to learn more about hygiene in recent times due to the spread of Covid 19 and the subsequent lockdowns but that doesn’t diminish its importance. Not only does it help protect from the Corona virus but it will also help stop the spread of colds and the flu.
So it’s extremely important that you follow these instructions:
When we touch surfaces that are unhygienic, we will transfer viruses and bacteria onto ourselves. Touching our face with contaminated hands leads to germs entering the body and causing illnesses.
Washing your hands often and avoiding touching your face decreases your chance of getting sick. It’s best to clean your hands with soap and water, especially if your hands are visibly dirty. Hand sanitizer helps reduce the number of germs and can be your best buddy when there is no water or soap.
Dr. Bronner’s Hand Hygiene Spray kills germs with a simple formula: organic ethyl alcohol, water, organic lavender oil, and organic glycerin - that's it!
Make sure you eat a wide variety of foods, particularly fruits and vegetables, the more variations, the more vitamins and minerals you will consume. Pay particularly attention to getting enough:
If you’re low on any of these, you may be more susceptible to winter illnesses. All the vitamins and supplements (and more) are present on our website.
We recommend Coyne Healthcare vitamins and supplements as they are prepared with the best quality and liposomal technology.
Because of the cold weather we obviously tend to spend less time outside, that coupled with shorter and cloudier days means we get a lot less sunlight on our skin, which leads to a smaller production of vitamin D, a crucial component for both bone and general health.
So you better get out and start collecting vitamin D then! Plan yourself a route and go jogging or cycling or whatever outdoor activity you feel like doing!
Not only will this bring you the afore mentioned physical benefits, it will also be a great morale boost for when you’ve been locked up inside all day long.
But sometimes with the cold breeze and Ireland’s unpredictable weather, we need a Vitamin D supplement to substitute the sunlight. Better You Vitamin D oral sprays are fast and effective and supports bones, teeth and a healthy immune system
Your winter season precautions must include keeping a check on your health conditions by opting for regular health check-ups.
In fact, cold weather triggers health problems like asthma, flu, sore throat, painful joints and an increased risk of heart attacks as low temperatures make your blood pressure rise and puts more pressure on your heart.
Not only should you make time for annual wellness checks, but you should also remember to get your regular health screenings. For example, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month to remind women to have a yearly screening.
Even though we get busy around the holidays, it’s worth taking the time to have routine wellness exams.
]]>Below are some tips on how to beat the End-of-Summer Blues, but remember to always check on your mental health, which is as important as your physical one. Speaking to someone, doing yoga regularly, connecting with our spiritual side is very important to live a peaceful and happy life.
Just a couple of months and this year will be over! How fast has time passed!
You might feel overwhelmed thinking about the goals you chose for the New Year which is a common feeling that overcomes everyone. By December we start creating our resolution list and feel like we have to stick to it the whole year but that’s not true.
A considerate part of our daily stress is related to this constant pressure that we have been conditioned to put on ourselves.
Re-evaluate your goals is the first thing to do to live a healthy and fruitful life. Analyse the past months to improve your routine and choose what is really important for you now, choose what aspects you want to focus on and improve.
Remember, don’t push yourself too much, these goals have the aim to motivate you, not to make you feel bad about those that you didn’t manage to do.
1.Family-time.
During Summer, with the kids at home, we get used to spending more time with the family, and, once winter comes, we might feel particularly emotional thinking about all the time spent together. But with Covid, spending almost one year at home with family, makes end-of summer even more blue!
Even though during the rest of the year it is more difficult to do something together, due to there being less time to dedicate to family activities, it is important to organize periodical games, movie nights or trips with them. (just deciding what to do and when is a big part of the family time it self)
This will soften the back to school routine and keep the family united and engaged in each other’s lives.
A cool thing to do all together is to write a family diary.
One night a week, or month, or whenever suits your family timetable better, you could drink a cup of hot chocolate, tea or any other hot beverage, while eating your favourite snacks and just talking about your past adventures, all the holidays you have spent together and in the meantime someone will write them down.
Another great activity to do is make a family photo album, like one of those big old family albums with a lot of pictures glued one on the other and writings and drawings all over the pages. These two activities can be done at the same time creating some sort of family journal with pictures but also a lot of writing.
There are many things that can be done, the only thing to do is choose one and start this tradition!
2. A Healthy Diet
Another important aspect of our lives and directly connected with our mood, therefore our attitude towards life, is the food that we eat.
Comfort foods are things that bond you to your emotions and will help you beat the Blues:
There are many ways to include these foods into our diet.
Check our social media for some exciting and delicious recipes

3.Plan something to look forward to
For many people Summer = Travel, and now that Summer is over you might think that even the travel part is.
The best part about travelling, either alone, with family or some friends, isn’t just to knock off work and the routine, is going somewhere new and being able to do the things that you like.
Who said that “to await a pleasure, is itself a pleasure “? - Well, whoever they were, they were right.
The whole period that goes from choosing where to go, what to do, with who and actually going is the best! Even if you are having a bad day at the office or start to lose motivation, just the thought of that trip, or whatever activity it may be, helps you to deal with anything!
So, write down a list of places you would like to visit, alone or with the family, even places that are on the other side of the earth or just a one-day trip somewhere, it doesn’t have to be a trip, it can just be a concert or a visit to a garden or country fairs, it doesn’t matter!
4.Plan ahead, buy an agenda
One of the causes of the End-of-Summer Blues and stress is the sudden amount of things to do. Especially after the holidays, where we relax and stop, for a breath, to think about work and the day to day things.
As a result of this, when we come back home we feel overwhelmed by all the things that we have to do, the meetings that we set before leaving, the kids going back to school, organising what to buy, and especially now that there are many promotions, like the End of Summer Sale on our website or the countless ones on school and office supplies, allowing us to buy durable goods at a cheaper price, sport practice, all the madness that our routine was.
Keeping up with everything is exhausting and it surely won’t help our already blue mood. The only way to survive is to keep track of all of our errands; to do so you could use the agenda on your mobile phone or, if you believe in the old fashioned way, note down things in a notebook.
Having an agenda allows us to have a visual representation of our life (extremely useful for who has a visual memory), making it easier to organise all our errands.
To make things easier, and for some people funnier, you could create a legend and associate every aspect of your life with a colour and/or symbol.
For example, you could use light blue for your work meetings, yellow for your kid (if you have more than one you could use one colour per child), orange for the gym, etc.
All of these things, apart from helping you to put order in your life, will distract you from the back to routine craziness.
There are many ways in which to organise yourself, choose the one that you like the most and use it.
5. Vitamins and Supplements
Winter is coming, and with it also all the winter-typical illnesses, like the well-known flu or the Strep Throat.
Cold weather really tries our immune system, and in a time like this having to stay at home for these illnesses is extremely frustrating and depressing.
Ergo is essential to periodically take the vitamins and supplements that are lacking in our immune system and lower the chances of catching something.
Some of the most used vitamins and supplements in winter are:
All the vitamins and supplements above (and more) are present on our website.
Consume them responsibly.

6.Exercises to improve your physical and mental health
That’s why we are suggesting these exercises that can be done both alone, taking some time for ourselves, or at home with the whole family.
And don’t forget to stretch!
Coming back from the holidays and starting with the old-new routine is never easy, the important thing is to have a positive attitude towards it and reminding ourselves that Christmas Holidays are only 3 months away.
]]>Maintaining a healthy brain during one’s life is the goal in pursuing health as well as reducing risk factors, keeping your mind active and getting the very best out of your brain as you get older.
There are some chronic brain health illnesses determined by genetics, but although we can't change our genetic heritage, but we can make lifestyle changes that can reduce the risk of developing dementia and mild cognitive decline.
Doctors and scientific researchers have discovered that it's possible to improve brain health and reduce the risk of dementia and age-related cognitive decline by making lifestyle changes.
Regular physical exercise, cutting bad habits like cigarettes and alcohol, eating a balanced diet and staying socially active can all boost brain health. There are no guarantees, we've all seen people who have still been affected by Alzheimer's, despite being healthy and clean living. However, living well does make a real difference. Statistically, a healthy lifestyle will not just reduce your risk of dementia, it will also protect against other serious conditions like diabetes, heart disease and cancer.
The brain changes throughout life, adapting to things we have learned and experienced. In a healthy brain, new connections continually develop and broken ones are repaired.
Mental decline is one of the most frightening aspects of aging, but it is not inevitable, by working to improve brain health you can help maintain your memory, understanding, communication and quality of life.
You might be bored of all the talk about improving brain health, and you probably want to go directly on how to improve it, so I’m not going to keep you waiting. Here are our tips on how to actually improve your quality of life.
At Healthy Buzz we advocate for a natural and vegan diet that’s why we recommend Linwoods flaxseeds, almonds, Brazil nuts, walnuts and CoQ10, a natural nut complex filled with magnesium and selenium, essential in maintaining a proper immune system function.
It also contains the Co-Enzyme Q10, an enzyme that occurs naturally in the body but declines with age, making dietary sources important in helping maintain adequate levels.
There are some cases in which the body cannot absorb certain minerals or vitamins through food, that’s why direct supplementation is needed.
We can find this example in curcumin, that’s why we recommend Coyne Healthcare’s Bio Curcumin, so you can get all its benefits, thanks to their patented, clinically proven and synergistic combination of curcumin and Ar-Turmerone, exclusively sourced from the turmeric plant, proven to deliver up to seven times more free and bioactive curcumin into the bloodstream than regular curcumin extracts and it remains active in the body for over eight hours.
Challenge and activate your mind every day. Build a piece of furniture, complete a jigsaw puzzle or do something artistic. Challenging your mind can help with short term and long term benefits as it creates a backup system. The more intellectual stimulation you have for your brain, the more neural circuits are utilized.

]]>It can get pretty hard to come up with ideas if you are one of those parents who wants to move beyond the Oreos and packaged foods, and actually look out for your child’s health while preparing something they will love. Exposing them to healthy foods from an early age will help them develop healthy habits and making them aware of the importance of maintaining a balanced and varied diet.
Picky eating is very common in children, but it can be prevented by exposing them to multiple foods, they might be a bit angry at first, but they will end up compromise if you stay firm.
Lots of children in Ireland (about 1 in 5) are overweight. Many parents don’t know that their child is carrying too much weight. For most children, if they eat more food than their body needs for growth and activity they will gain extra weight. Being overweight as a child can cause health problems later in life.
As parents, we want what’s best for our kids, but it can get pretty hard to give them the right amount of energy, protein and other nutrients. In most cases, our busy everyday life often gets in the way of making healthy changes. It’s not about being perfect. It's about starting with a change, sticking with it and getting a small daily win. The good habits that our children learn in the home will stay with them for life.
Making small changes to your children's diet and activity could make big differences in their future health. If you’re regularly active and eating healthily, it’s also more likely that your children will do so too.
That’s why we came up with some healthy snack and lunchboxes ideas:
Snacks have a bad reputation, they are always associated with delicious, unhealthy food, but it doesn’t have to be like that. Snacks are the perfect way to help keep up your children’s energy levels between meals, while providing them with essential nutrients.
Here are some quick snack ideas so you can get on with your day too.
Walnuts are the top nut for brain health. They have a significantly high concentration of DHA, a type of Omega-3 fatty acid. Among other things, DHA has been shown to protect brain health in new-borns, improve cognitive performance in adults, and prevent or ameliorate age-related cognitive decline. One study even shows that mothers who get enough DHA have smarter kids. Just a quarter cup of walnuts provides nearly 100% of the recommended daily intake of DHA.
Additional research has found that people with walnuts and walnut oil in their diets have lower resting blood pressure as well as lower blood pressure responses to stress in the laboratory.
That means they are exclusively an awesome food choice for adults, but it also benefits your kid’s school performance and correct brain development.
Check out our Linwood’s Flax, Almonds, Brazils & Walnuts mix, with the recommended daily amount of Magnesium and Selenium, along with the Coenzyme Q10, an important vitamin-like substance required for the proper function of many organs and chemical reactions in the body as well as helping provide energy to cells.
Choosing the right snacks can get really challenging, shelves are full of processed and chemical-filled products, that’s why we want to make it easier for you by making yet another list of our favourite snacks.
It can be challenging to create a healthy and interesting lunch that children will enjoy in school. Lunches provide around one-third of our daily nutritional needs, so it’s important to put some thought and planning into them.
That’s why we advocate for a wide variety of foods – fruit and vegetables, starchy foods, protein and dairy. Fluids are important for children – up to 6 cups of fluid should be encouraged daily.
It might seem hard for your children to enjoy all these changes in their diet, that’s why getting them involved in packing their lunch is a great idea. Let them choose at least one ingredient of their pack, as well as their bottle and their lunchbox, you can even help them decorate it as it will help them be more disposed to eating it.
Ireland’s Health Services have a fantastic guide for all parents to help them in packing a healthy lunch, you can click here to open the PDF.
Remember we all start somewhere, adapting to a whole new lifestyle won’t be easy at first but it will be worth it. It might take some time for you or your kids to adapt to it, that why starting slow is key, making one change at a time is key, start by reducing processed foods at breakfast, then cut sodas at lunch, then you might add 25 minutes of exercise a day, it will all add up.
Involve your children, make it a whole family thing, that way they won’t feel like it’s a punishment.
Be consistent and stick with it, remember, it’s not a sprint, it’s a marathon. Changes don’t happen instantly, it will take time, but nothing worth having comes easy.
That’s why we are offering a 10% discount with the code BACK2SCHOOL in all our website, so we can make this change easier for you.
]]>Our minds are a very complex subject, as there isn’t a one size-fits-all manual. Everyone manifests their issues in their own manner, that's why it’s so difficult to explain and change human behaviour.
You’ve probably seen lots of “healthy foods” and dietary products ads, they’re everywhere. The media is trying to push physical well-being as the only key aspect of health, as it is an industry that makes billions every year preying on people’s insecurities and ignorance.
But what if instead of preying on those insecurities we tackle them from the beginning? Even though mental health is a very subjective matter there are some common points that can be a good indicator of our state of mind.
The American Psychiatric Association conducted a study that concluded that fifty percent of mental illnesses start at the age of 14 and three quarters before the age of 24.
Symptoms can’t be ignored, especially in the younger children, as they can be the most affected by them due to their little experience in dealing with these major problems and their limited resources.
So it is our job as parents to try to identify possible patterns that might show indicatives of any kind of mental health issues.
These are the most common indicators in children as described by the American Psychiatric Association:
But mental health problems do not only occur in the youngest ones, they can be present in people of any age, that’s why they also have a list of the most common symptoms that manifest in adults:
I’m pretty sure that while going through the list you recognised at least a couple of them, at some point of your life you have probably suffered some of them.
But before you keep on reading I just want you to think when was the last day you spent doing something that you liked, without stressing out over unnecessary things.
Today’s pace is extremely fast, working full-steam for 8+ hours is exhausting to our minds, even if we don’t want to admit it, and that’s shooting ourselves in the foot.
I’m certain you haven’t had a Netflix & Chill day in so long, and the first thing that came to your mind was “but I don’t have that much time” well, feasible enough, then just spend an afternoon doing nothing, relaxing and sleeping. You can thank me later.
But if watching a TV series is not your cup of tea, you can always try finding new hobbies, there’s a lot to be explored in life. If that’s still not enough to convince you to take a break, exercising will surely do the trick.
Exercise has been shown by numerous scientific studies that helps improve mental health and mood, and even enhance memory and cognition.
Exercising can be hard especially if you’re used to living a sedentary life but it’s well worth it. When stressing your body through physical activity you cause a decrease in the stress hormones like cortisol and epinephrine.
There’s a theory which is yet to be demonstrated although you have surely heard of it that exercising triggers a release of dopamine and serotonin, mood controlling hormones.
But one thing is certain, physical activity plays a crucial role in people with anxiety, and I’ve also experienced it myself. When stressing your body, you’re essentially mimicking some of the situations that can occur when you suffer from anxiety, helping you develop responses to it.
The American Psychiatric Association recommends exercising regularly as it leads to a sense of accomplishment. You can complement that by starting a self-care routine. Those small things can make an enormous difference. Our physical health is extremely tied to our mental well-being, so any healthy habits like eating a nutritious meal and socialising can result in an improvement in quality of life.
So you might be wondering why all of the above? Pretty simple, everyone deserves to be happy and healthy, and physical and psychological well-being are two key factors in achieving those objectives.
You can always get a head start by taking specific natural supplements that help combat those symptoms mentioned above, but finding a product that helps you find that balance between a good physical and mental health can get pretty hard and scary.
The market is flooded with chemical-filled medication, that’s why here at HealthyBuzz we recommend using Coyne Healthcare’s – Felix/Affron or Felix Advanced, a 100 percent genetically certified, non-GMO, non-irradiated saffron extract supplement.
Saffron contains the carotenoids crocin and crocetin which, like other carotenoids, are powerful antioxidants. Apart from these antioxidants, saffron also comprises safranal. Primarily responsible for the spice’s distinctive smell, this molecule is also used as an active principle in a number of therapeutic preparations.
Saffron extract may help with mood, stress, anxiety, sleep, cognition, vigour and vitality, as well as relaxation, mental and physical balance and maintaining a positive, feel-good mood.
Still, dedicating time to yourself and supplementing with top-of-the-line supplements might not be enough to solve everything, in that case you should contact the emergency line by calling 999 or clicking the link below, you can find multiple resources in case you need to talk to someone anonymously.
https://www.mentalhealthireland.ie/get-support/
And remember, there’s always a solution to any mental health problem, you can get help by starting a medication plan prescribed by a professional, counselling, social support or education.
Your mental health is key both for you and your loved ones, that’s why it should never be ignored.
]]>With the scorching sun out, house parties are the best option to host barbeques and pool parties to enjoy an evening with loved ones and definitely food! Everyone loves to host a good party where they can have fun, but it can be a tedious job to do.
Cleaning before and after can get really tiresome even for the most dedicated ones, that’s why I have compiled a list of the best summer cleaning hacks to make it a lot easier for you
Cleaning will get more efficient if you perform the same task throughout the house (ex. Dusting, vacuuming, mopping) as it prevents the feeling of despair to arise as you perform the same cleaning cycle over and over in each room
As with everything, cleaning requires some preparation before diving straight into it.
You will waste a lot of time if you have all your cleaning products scattered all around the house. So before cleaning anything make sure you have your tools near you and an all-in-one cleaner, as it will save you lots of space and money.
At HealthyBuzz we advocate for the protection of the environment, that’s why we recommend Dr.Bronner’s Sal Suds Liquid Cleaner, a concentrated hard-surface all-purpose cleaner and Pure Castile Liquid Soap which has 18-In-1 uses, the best cleaning buddy!
When cleaning a room, don't start by cleaning the kitchen floor, then cleaning the counter, only to watch the dust fall to your previously cleant floor.
A good way to avoid that is to start from the top, it might sound pretty simple but you will save a lot of time if you follow an order to avoid redoing your work
Likewise starting from a side and gradually working your way to the other side will ensure no spot gets undusted and makes it more efficient as you don’t have to dart from place to place.
Before doing any cleaning, clearing the surface of any unwanted clutter makes it look like a much easier chore. That way you can keep what you really want to want and throw away -or donate- the rest, while freeing lots of space.
Before you start dusting, check the windows and ceiling fans are switched off, you wouldn’t be the first person who has to start over because a gust of wind blew at the wrong moment.
When dusting, place extra attention on the top of the shelves, TV and PC screens, paintings, picture frames and under the tables and chairs.
For places difficult to reach consider using a broom or a microfiber cloth.
Doormats are the perfect trap for dirt, every time you come back home you bring all kinds of dirt from outside.
Doormats are the one thing preventing it from getting inside, just make sure you clean them regularly, remember, they can also be your worst enemies if allowed to.
Reaching the top shelves or cabinets won’t be an issue anymore, just use your vacuum’s brush attachment to pick up dust and crumbs inside.
For the outside you can use a microfiber cloth dampened with Dr Bronner’s Sal Suds Liquid Cleaner to give them a brand-new look
You have probably experienced opening a closet only to be welcomed by a musty odour coming from the mold and mildew that is inside of it, a product of accumulated humidity.
Buying a dehumidifier helps reduce those odours without any downside, you only have to empty them every couple of weeks so they can keep doing their job.
They not only help reduce the potential development of mold on furniture, curtains and clothing, but it also helps to reduce dust, both helping prevent potential allergies such as dust mites, humidity and mold.
What are you waiting for, you can get them anywhere for cheap and it will save you lots of unwanted surprises.
With summer in full effect, heat has come along, and with it sweat is inevitable. Although we can’t control that, we can use some tricks that will minimize its effects
We wear shoes all day long so it’s pretty common for them to build up sweat and get smelly, so right after you get home, we recommend sprinkling some shoe deodorant in them to eliminate all odours and be ready to confront the next day in clean shoes.
You can find shoe deodorant in any supermarket, and trust me, it will make a big difference.
It is pretty usual to have a dirty microwave as a product of the spills of baked-on-food. Those chunks can get really hard to remove, especially if they have been there for a few days.
Here’s a trick for you by Lisa Bronner, instead of battling against the microwave, use it to your favour. "Microwave lemon halves for 2 minutes, then leave the microwave shut for 5 minutes. Even the crudiest crud will wipe right off! It's a great use for leftover lemons & your whole kitchen will smell great!"
Crud will soften so you will only need to grab a cloth and wipe it down, it’s that simple.
No more scrubbing or spending money on unnecessary cleaning products
It’s pretty normal to have a smelly garbage disposal, if you want to get rid of the stink just run a few lemon rinds through it and follow with some cold water to get rid of any odours.
We have all gone through trying to get rid of all the hairs of our combs by hand, and it’s a pain in the ass but I have a solution for you that I discovered almost accidentally.
Just vacuum them, it’s a pretty effortless thing to do and a more efficient way of getting rid of all those pesky hairs.
After doing that just put your hairbrushes and combs in the dishwasher to make the look as if they are brand-new
Cutting boards are constantly getting dirty and have to get washed after every use if we want to keep them clean, but we don’t always have time for it, drying some of the stains which makes them really hard to remove. But don’t worry, you only need a lemon and some baking soda or salt to get rid of those pesky stains.
Sprinkle some salt or baking soda on the surface of the cutting board, then run the cut side of a lemon all over it to get rid of the smells and stains.
We all have that mug we use every day, coffee doesn’t taste the same if we don’t drink in it. But as Spiderman’s Uncle Ben said; “with great power comes great responsibility” and we have to keep it shining bright, we can’t simply drink from our dirty mug. Coffee can create some stubborn unsightly ring stains if not cleaned right after drinking it, if this ever happens just squirt a little Dr. Bronner’s Pure Castile Liquid Soap, and you will be left with a shining bright coffee mug!
There you go, you have your brand-new favourite mug ready to use first thing in the morning to help you take on the day.
Having to clean the ceiling, especially textured ones can be a disheartening chore. If you choose to use a broom, pieces of it can get knock down if you are not extremely careful, instead use a paint roller damped with a microfiber cloth to pick up dust and cobwebs
As British novelist Jane Austin said “Without music, life would be a blank to me.”
Blast some music on your phone and make things more lighthearted and enjoyable. Believe me, you’ll be more motivated and focused on the job and you’ll finish faster
Let’s be honest, we all hate cleaning, but not doing it only makes it worse. If you really want to cut down your cleaning time you have to do it more often, you don’t want to clean several months’ worth of cleaning in a weekend.
Once the house has been deep cleaned, give it a once-over every week so you can maintain your place looking nice and clean.
Ask for some help, make cleaning a group activity. Ask your family to contribute to the house, it will make cleaning not feel like a chore!
Now since your house is cleaned and has a fresh citrus smell, it’s time to call your friends and family home to celebrate the shining summer. Keeping the house clean sounds like a difficult task, but once done you will feel a wave of relief.
]]>We are going to share a few helpful tips for you to thrive this summer!
Not getting enough sleep is associated with increased hunger, poor concentration, higher blood pressure, frequent illness and impaired problem-solving. Make sure to give yourself at least 7-8 hours of sleep a night to wake up fresh and rejuvenated.
Water is the perfect companion to keep you hydrated while keeping your appetite in check. Add a splash of flavour with fresh fruits or cucumbers and lime slices. Aside for drinking more water, it is advised to opt for drinks with electrolytes when exercising or doing any other form of activities in the heat. Eating fruits with high water content such as watermelons, apricots, blueberries, oranges, peaches, pineapples, plums and raspberries can also help with hydration.
Consuming a well-balanced diet is important to keep the body’s immune system in optimum condition. Aside from avoiding salty and processed food, ensure that perishable products and wet ingredients are stored correctly to prevent spoilage. Discard leftovers that have been sitting in the open for more than two hours.
I highly recommend eating light, small and frequent meals. Heavy meals with large amounts of carbohydrates and fats give rise to a lot of heat in the body. I always focus on fresh fruits and vegetables that have high water content (as suggested above) to keep by body and mind active.
Drinking too much alcohol can lead to unintended outcomes. A serving of alcohol contains about 100 calories and mixed with drinks have even more. The goal is to limit alcohol to one drink a day to keep your body fresh and active. Alcohol, fizzy drinks and caffeine can leave you dehydrated very quickly. Try to reduce the amount of flavoured drinks on a hot sunny day to remain hydrated.
Regular exercise is an essential part of a healthy and active life. Try to limit any exercise or physical activity to indoors or under adequate shade. Make sure to schedule workouts during cooler hours i.e. either in the evenings or towards the night to avoid the worst of summer heat.
It is essential to keep the body cool and well ventilated to prevent heat from building up. I would recommend wearing light-coloured, loose-fitting garments as it helps with air circulation and reflect heat rather than absorb it. Clothes made of breathable materials like cotton are preferable over synthetic fabrics, which can weigh the body down and create unnecessary warmth.
Your skin should be properly moisturized in the summer months. During the summer, your face and skin should be properly washed to protect it from heat stroke and dust particles. Applying the correct sunscreen with plenty SPF is very important to protect you from the harsh UV rays.
Staying out of the sun is no solution hence using a broad spectrum sunscreen before going out is important. Additionally, wear clothes to cover the skin and consider using a light, wide-brimmed hat and sunglasses to protect the head and eyes from exposure to the sun.
Protect your vision form the harsh sunlight at work or play, wear protective eyewear. When outdoors wear sunglasses that block at least 99% of ultraviolet rays.
Try and eat less than six teaspoons of added sugar, which does not include natural sugar derived in fruit and milk. This goal may not be realistic every day but aim for success 70% of the time. Save your six teaspoons of sugar for a special dessert. When checking labels, it is helpful to know that one teaspoon equals four grams of added sugar.
One of the best ways to manage body temperature is by taking a cold shower, especially after coming from the scotching sun. Not only is the body cooled, but the risk of possible exposure to bacteria and other contaminants is also reduced. Meanwhile, regular and frequent hand washing and disinfection of eating and cooking utensils will help in preventing food contamination.
Proper nutritional supplements can support you with a great amount of physical energy, and increase your summer activities. Coyne Healthcare’s Vitamin B-complex liposomal supplements helps in relaxing the nervous system and is quite helpful as it has a high quality folic acid as well as the active forms of vitamins B1, B2, B3, B6, B7 and B12 as key co-factors in energy production, neurotransmitter and hormonal balance.
While going out and enjoying the sun seems like a good idea, minimizing exposure to the outdoors can make all the difference in staying safe during dry months. Make sure to plan necessary trips during cooler hours and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun rays. Plan on prioritizing indoor-friendly alternatives to running errands outside.
Most important thing to do to stay healthy this summer is to Have Fun! If possible, take a vacation, even if it is big or small. We all need to have healthy distractions from work, family and other responsibilities. Get lost in a great book, watch a light comedy movie or explore a new part of town. Introduce yourself to something fun and new this summer.
Creating a healthy environment around exercise, food and rest will make sure that you achieve an overall healthy life. One of the most essential things to remember is that only you are in charge of respecting your body and providing you with what you need.

Just as you wouldn’t wear winter sweaters in summer, you might want to tweak your skincare products going into summer. If during winter you used gentler cream cleansers and hydrating moisturizers on your skin to protect it from the harsh winter climate, you may now want to change back to more thorough foaming cleansers and more light-weight moisturizers.
It is the most important and fundamental summer skincare tip, Don’t leave your home without wearing sunscreen. You should use a broad spectrum sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher on all exposed skin. Don’t forget about your hands, feet, ears and lips. Jason – Mineral Natural Sunscreen SPF 30 is a great choice for all of the above.
An all-mineral sun screen that is chemical and fragrance free, Jason’s Mineral Based Natural Sunblock SPF 30 provides UVA and UVB protection and creates a natural barrier to protect skin against sun burn. The easy-to-rub in formula won’t leave a white film on skin like most mineral sun screens do and is hypoallergenic making it ideal for sensitive skin. It is also safer for use on babies over six months of age.
If you are not wearing a winter jacket, why should your skin? In the summer, I generally advice consumers, their skin care routine will need a little more lightweight. The heat and humidity of summer means you can swap out the heavier cleanser, thicker creams instead of a gentle, foaming option. I usually prefer using Kinvara Absolute Cleansing Oil, as it contains no harsh chemicals.
Kinvara Absolute Cleansing Oil is the perfect cleanser for all ages and skin types, including oily, sensitive and dry skin. It balances oil production, especially important for Acne/Oily prone skin, while nourishing and hydrating the skin thanks to its blend of skin loving plants. It will gently but effectively remove all your make-up, including waterproof mascara in less than 60 seconds! It’s a real multi-tasker saving you both time and money. This aromatic, creamy cleanser will transform your cleansing routine into a mini-facial.
Despite the weather being hot and humid, you still need to moisturize. Even if your skin already feels oils, you should always follow cleansing with a moisturizer. Moisturizers re-establish the stratum corneum, your outermost layer of the skin, which protects from harmful pollutants and chemicals and prevents further irritation or dryness. On a daily basis I use Sukin Hydrating Body Lotion.
Sukin’s aromatic Hydrating Body Lotion replenishes and nourishes the skin’s moisture barrier through its rich blend of Sesame Seed, Rosehip, Jojoba, Avocado and Wheat Germ Oils. Enriched with an infusion of Aloe Vera, Nettle, Horsetail and Burdock, skin is left feeling soothed and hydrated.
Vitamin C is great year-round, but all the more important in the summer. Vitamin C helps prevent hyperpigmentation, improve the appearance of fine lines, and can help with collagen production. Layer a few drops on your skin between cleansing and moisturizer. I would recommend using Kinvara 24Hr Rosehip Face Serum
Kinvara Skincare Rosehip Face Serum is a new natural skincare product that uses a blend of vitamins, antioxidants, anti-inflammatories and herbal extracts to provide intensive care to dehydrated or problem skin. Among the ingredients are organic rosehip, thistle and evening primrose which are full of protective, omega rich oils that aid cell regeneration.
Dermatologists are often reminding us not to over-exfoliate, but in the summertime, 'tis the season to slough away. If you have oily skin, I would recommend "more exfoliation" into your skin-care routine. That doesn't mean a daily dose of all your favourite acids, but try slowly increasing the amount of days you exfoliate per week. I try to exfoliate my skin at least once a week and use Sukin Facial Scrub Tube, it shows wonders.
This gentle scrub polishes skin, refining texture and smoothness, leaving clean radiant skin. Bamboo extract and ground walnut shells exfoliate dirt and impurities then aloe vera, rosehip oil and German chamomile work to soothe and relax.
Who doesn’t want glowing, sun-kissed skin during the summertime? We certainly do! However, soaking up too much sun just isn’t healthy for your skin. Rather than lay out, try applying a self-tanner for a faux glow. And don’t worry about ending up with an orange, streaky tan. With the right self-tanner, it’s easy (and quick) to achieve a natural-looking tan in no time. I would recommend using Green People – Self Tan Lotion
A revolutionary natural self-tan - the first certified organic in the UK, this product is hightly recommended by Beauty Director at Harpers Magazine. Achieve a healthy, natural-looking tan without harmful sun exposure. The lotion is derived from sugar, and gives the appearance of a natural tan. It quick-dries and non-greasy, leaving the skin soft and supple and is lightly scented with natural essential oils.
Before you even think about what you’re putting on your skin, you should be thinking about what you’re putting into it. When it comes to properly transitioning one’s skin care routine to adapt to the warmer months, first and most importantly, everyone should be drinking as much water as possible. Staying hydrated is essential for beautiful skin and good health. Being well-hydrated stabilizes the skin barrier, which moisturizes your skin and provides the proper medium for cell turnover and collagen production.
Don’t neglect the sensitive skin on your lips. The bottom lip is a highly sun-exposed area I recommend Dr. Bronner’s Organic Lip Balms. Dr.
They come in five amazing scents which not only moisturizes your lips but also nourishes. Cherry Blossom being my new favourite, it is also available in Peppermint, Baby-Mild, Orange Ginger and Lemon-Lime.
I can’t put more focus on wearing sun-protective clothing, wide-brim hats, and sunglasses in the sun. We don't expect you to wear a long-sleeve shirt for a hot day at the beach, but be mindful to expose as little of your body as possible to direct sunlight. That might mean sitting underneath an umbrella, wearing an extra-large hat, or avoiding the midday sun.
]]>Below are a few tips for you to get your body, mind and soul ready for the summer.
It is essential for you to get more water into your body daily, as it is a key behaviour for promoting healthy metabolism, increase energy levels and glow your skin. We often overlook how important it is to hydrate ourselves for better health. If you are that person who is eating healthy, exercising and still are unable to lose weight, start by hydrating. You will be astonished how great you will feel.
Load up your bowl, plate and glass with as many plants as you can! With spring bloom comes fresh herbs, and more natural produce available at the market and stores. While the local produce may still be on its way, you should find domestic, organic and natural products. The more vibrant, colourful fruits and veggies you eat and drink, the better you can feel while trimming down the waistline!
Take your leftover New Year’s resolution and wish list for weight loss and turn it into a regular action. Stop feeling like you “can” and get to doing the impossible. Whether it is setting a reminder to drink water, eating lunch, relishing on veggies for a snack or going to the store, making your to-do list more automated can help you turn your goals into a reality. It is hard to ignore your phones loud alarm and it can help being a friendly nudge in the healthier direction that was missing.
Spring’s beautiful array of bright, vibrant colours which can be found in houseplants, flowers, fruits and vegetables, doesn’t brighten up a rainy day but it also brings a wealth of immune supportive nutrients to your body. Eating the rainbow is key for optimal wellness, because every colour boosts a unique yet equally important phytonutrients that can help fight colds, and promote glowing skins. Start incorporating in a fresh juice to your breakfast or snack each day!
Winter may have left an impression on your couch but now it is time to get up and start moving around. When the weather allows, get outside for a walk, run or jog! Try to complete as many errands as possible my foot. If you cannot get to your destination in a reasonable amount of time from your home, pick a central location to park and walk to as many stores as you can safely access.
Try watching Netflix of listening to music while walking on the treadmill. Keep your mind and body active to help pump up your metabolism and reap its slimming effects.
A little bit of summer sun is what we wait the whole year for. The hot days are almost here so it is just about time to put away and pack those winter sweaters and cosy socks, as comfy as they may be. What could be more pleasant than being able to finally twirl around in the park or garden in light and soft summer clothing. This is a great opportunity for you to discover the latest summer trends and find a summer dress.
Magazines have removed the summer trend for 2021 which is to focus on gentle flowers and soft colours. Trends will be all around pastel colours, embroider, balloon sleeves, zebra and floral prints and natural fabrics. Forget about synthetics that make you sweat in the summer and put on comfortable pretty cotton fabrics.
With things easing, prepare your trips to the beach and lake in your new bathing suits and comfy summer clothes. And last but not the least, consider getting out those sandals that even your feet can enjoy the sunshine. But do not forget the golden rule to always polish your nails to show off the pretty toes and fingers.
While sunny days might be getting more prevailing, if you have Vitamin d deficiency, you must consume supplements which will help you with the same. Our Better You Vitamin D range are specially formulated to deliver vitamin D through the soft tissue of the mouth for optimal absorption.
Vitamin D is important for overall health including mood upliftment, fighting fatigue, muscle cramps, bone health and may be cancer preventive. You may be able to decrease your usage in summer but check it with your general practitioner or dietitian.
The products you relied on last summer are likely expired or will be by the time you require them this year. Before the rush to buy sunscreen starts, consider purchasing a new one for your body and another for your face. That way, when the first really nice days’ start rolling in around unexpectedly, you will be ready to head outside without fear of sunburn or expired SPF.
Get into the habit of exfoliating early and often. Scrubbing your whole body may seem a little tiresome in the shower, but it genuinely makes a huge difference not only in the overall health of your skin but also in its ability to absorb moisturising products. And not for nothing, but shaving your hands and legs will be a whole lot more pleasant if you bog off those winter layers of dead skin first.
While you wait for the bounty of in-season summer produce that awaits, consider detoxing yourself a bit. Whether it is adding a scoop of greens to your morning smoothie or juice, upping the healthy bacteria into your gut to fight winter bloating or experimenting with some vegan dishes. Small steps now will mean you have the energy to get out and become a healthy person when the weather calls for it.
Natural food based skin care is important for your body. While eating more fruits, vegetables and plant based foods can help promote glowing skin, getting some of the same ingredients onto your skin will also leave you looking feeling gorgeous. If you have a sensitive skin, look out for food sensitivities to gluten and dairy and do your best to avoid processed foods. Being well hydrated also helps in keeping your skin glowing.
Chilly temperatures and dark afternoons often leave us in a rut of work or school and then straight home. Socializing is key for weight loss which might sound surprising cause these events typically revolve around drinks and food and not always healthy foods. Rather than embarking on a summer slender plan all by yourself, get the power of community by joining with other like-minded people seeking wellness and if possible an expert couch to guide you in every step.
Being prepared and doing your homework is part of any solid plan. Summer offers you access to many opportunities for wellness but without a proper plan they may often pass by. To take care of your health and wellness below are a few ways:
Window washing, wiping the refrigerator shelves, scrubbing the floor, etc are all spring cleaning tasks that feel great. Taking a deep dive into dust and dirt that’s been gathering can be empowering. Just think how amazing it will make you feel to purge and clean your kitchen cabinets, fridge, spice rack, freezer and pantry of any foods that don’t fit into your “Get Ready for Summer” wellness plan. Below is my step to step guide on achieving it:
You deserve summer and all the happy vibes that follow with it. However, you will have to remain calm and conscious. No one wants to experience a second wave of the coronavirus and not to confined themselves in these amazing summers. Hence it is important to assume your responsibilities and follow the government guidelines.
Also, wearing a face mask is essential in any public places and can be a great way of respecting your fellow citizens. Many small businesses now offer fabric face masks to the public. Get in style this summer with floral and stylish face masks which go along with your outfits.
]]>But how often does good nutrition, health and self-care become part of the story? We all know that what we eat, daily and exercise have a huge impact on both our professional and personal lives, yet growing a good relationship with these three isn’t often the primary thing that comes to mind when we consider about self-care.
According to my philosophy good nutrition and daily exercise is the ultimate form of self-care. While it may feel like a deep tissue massage, its benefits on your stress, mood, digestion and overall mental and physical healthy absolutely compliment every other self-care practice you do for your mind and body.
We always force our needs to the bottom of our priority list, putting our health and safety at risk. But this month, we'll give you some great tips to help you balance your time and nourish your mind, body, and belly.
Before we get into why looking after yourself begins with a good diet and exercise, let's start with a clear description of self-care and why it's important.
The framework for success starts with: brain, body and belly!
When it comes to self-care in our personal lives, there are three keys areas we should concentrate on, firstly, our brain (mental health), secondly our body (physical fitness) and lastly our belly (the nutrition we need to stay healthy and fit. By balancing one’s brain, body and belly, we will enjoy a better quality of life!
Treat Your Body Like a Temple
Self-care is the practice of looking after one’s self. It is a collection of everyday behaviours and attitudes that we follow in order to not only preserve but also excel in our health and well-being. Practicing self-care means taking the time to recognise when your energy and coping mechanisms are running low and reloading your vital reserves with whatever they need to get back on path.
This could mean making sure that you eating something before hurrying into another meeting or taking fifteen minutes to stretch your legs in the sunshine.
Self-care is important as we often treat ourselves very poorly in relations to how we treat other, forfeiting our needs in order to tend to the needs of everyone else. We over commit our time, managing 101 things on our plate. This stems from our need to try and please everyone which quickly leads to us feeling overwhelmed and stressed.
In today’s fast paced world, effective stress management is more important than ever before. A recent study found that 85% adults experience stress regularly, 39% feel stressed on daily basis, 54% adults are concerned about the impact of stress on their health and body and 32% people believe that exercise is the best was to overcome stress.
Practicing self-care leads to a healthy work-life balance, keeping one’s stress level under control and fight against conditions like anxiety and depression. A healthy diet and daily exercise play a huge role in nurturing your brain, body and belly.
Eating a healthy and balanced diet is one of the core elements of self-care. This is because our bodies need enough nutrients and hydration of exist and remain functioning. The popular saying, “you are what you eat” is something that everyone should stick by as it is the very truth. Our daily food choices affect our overall mental health and well-being.
Make is your target to treat your body like the temple that it is. It is okay to splurge on potato chips and the tub of cookie dough ice cream no and then, but it is very important that you nourish your body with the essential nutrients. A healthy body is a body better to fight stress and anxiety.
Additionally, eating well can help in boosting your cognitive functioning and reduces harmful symptoms of stress, anxiety, depression and many other mental illnesses. A healthy diet would limit the intake of your sugar, caffeine, and alcohol. Avoid processed foods with a lot of artificial constituents and preservers. Drink at least 7 glasses of water daily as a dehydrated body is a low-energy body. Consume plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables with the correct combination of carbs, proteins and healthy fats.
Your relationship with food is constantly evolving and that is completely fine. While the above tips are certainly great thumb rules, a diet that works for one person may not be the same for someone else. There are various factors that cause this variation, such as height, weight, lifestyle and goals.
Eating too much of the wrong foods can lead to things like weight gain and chronic illness such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Healthy food choices on the other hand can give out bodies the fuel they need to thrive and fight off harmful diseases. On the other end of the spectrum, undereating can be just as dangerous as you are depriving your body of the essential vital nutrients.
In terms of self-care, I agree that nourishing rather than restricting one's body is the best thing one can do about it. Self-care, according to the Oxford dictionary, is "the practice of intentionally maintaining one's own well-being and enjoyment, especially during times of stress and anxiety."
Dieting, cleansing, detoxing, and giving up eventually leads to feelings of limitation, remorse, and heightened tension. When I talk about good nutrition, healthy body and self-care it never means dieting. It means properly fuelling and correctly feeding your body the basic things it needs to function i.e. high-quality protein, healthy fats, vitamins, minerals and carbohydrates.
Your body is excellent at naturally detoxifying your body through a three phase fundamental metabolic process in the GI tract and liver. Studies show that natural detoxification is actually increased with adequate intake of calories, protein, fat and carbohydrates. Diets and cleanses such as juicing, certainly don’t provide adequate nutrition to the body for these processes to occur. Thus the detoxification that one is promised or expecting is insignificant and are left feeling hungry, miserable and deprived, which is not self-care.
A well balanced diet makes sure the inclusion of various food members. The greater the variety of foods, the bigger the range of nutrients. This is what one need to function efficiently. Restrictive or unbalanced eating may result in mood shifts in the late afternoon and feelings of lethargy. When we are tired we tend of eat more and feel stress and anxious easily and less motivated to exercise.
Physical health is a core element of self-care. The body and mind have a unique connection and it is difficult to be in high spirits when you are not feeling good about your body and weight. Studies have shown that regular exercise increases the level of serotonin in our body significantly improving the mood and energy. When exercising for self-care you should choose any activity you love such as walking, running, jogging, swimming or just about anything that makes you feel alive.
Making time for exercise is a core element towards self-care. This is because exercise not only helps to prevent harmful diseases, but also promotes the release of chemicals such as endorphins in the body which combat stress and help us relax.
In our stress response, there are two endorphins which are important, anandamide and serotonin. Anandamide is a chemical associated with stress regulation, and a lack of it can increase the likelihood of stress. There is evidence that anandamide may be associated with brain-derived neurotropic factor which is essential when it comes maintaining healthy neurons while creating new ones.
Serotonin is a feel-good chemical and low levels of it are linked to developing conditions like depression and anxiety. When it comes to feeling inspired and relaxed, an increase of serotonin will make all the difference, and exercise helps to stimulate its secretion.
Physical exercise promotes overall fitness and manages emotional stress, tension and anxiety. A combination of cardio exercises i.e. activities that increase your heart rate such as running, spinning, swimming, jogging or walking and strength training i.e. working the muscles using resistance such as weights or utilizing your body weight as resistance in Pilates or yoga, has been found to be the most effective for mind, body and belly.
To gain physical exercise on regular basis you can join a gym, walk your dogs, play any form of sports such as basketball, football, tennis etc., go on a hike, do yoga, run with a partner, take a dance or Pilates class. Any form of regular exercise will help your mind, body and belly develop and remain healthy.
Whatever you decide to do, make sure you genuinely prefer it. Choose an activity you enjoy and that inspires you and not one that you dread. If you have any medical conditions, it is important to consult a doctor before starting any new or rigorous exercise.
Exercise is crucial for health and longevity of one’s life, as its been shown as a vital element in reducing your risk of developing certain diseases and improving your quality of life. Fitness can help increase your cardiovascular health and respiratory function while promoting healthy and strong bones, muscles and joints and maintain a healthy weight. Exercise also boosts your immune system and helps improve your sleep quality, mood and energy levels.
Finding the best workout regimen for you should take some time, just like finding the right diet for you. You're in luck and the possibilities are limitless. So, get out there and put them to the test! Soon, you'll be looking forward to going to the gym, playing basketball, or even salsa dancing!
For your mind, body and belly, all three to function efficiently the most important element is sleep. Aiming for a refreshing amount of sleep is important. While this differs from person to person, generally being eight hours of a good night’s sleep, it is tempting to stay up late to cram on late night household chores or answer an email but the world won’t come to a halt if the laundry is dirty or the dishes are piled up in the sink.
Sleep deprivation causes irritability, poor cognition, impaired reflexes and poor respond time whereas chronic sleep deprivation can contribute to stress, anxiety and depression. Creating a short and easy bedtime routine is important for proper functioning. Stretching or yoga, or reading a book can be relaxing and calming. The most vital thing is to stay away from your smartphones, tablets, or laptops as the light interferes and interrupts the natural sleep onset. Additionally, alcohol near bedtime also interferes with sleep and is a common cause of night time or early morning awakening.
Maybe we cannot do all the things every day, but if we make self-care a goal, and try to achieve all of the above factors regularly, we will feel and function better. The healthier we feel and function, the more we can do for the people and things we care about and that is a win!

Our choices of healthy foods have expanded where there has been a 27% increase in consumption of fresh fruits and a 21% increase in consumption of greens and vegetables from 2010 to 2021. We are consuming more broccoli, avocadoes, tomatoes, onions, apples, bananas and grapes.
In spite of this bounty full of greens, vegetables and fruits, we are often nutrient deficient and over 40% adults have dietary intakes of vitamin A, B, C, D and E, calcium, and magnesium below the average requirement for their age and gender. These statistics do not even account the important antioxidants that keep us healthy, such as glutathione, coenzyme Q10 and resveratrol.
Nearly two third adults believe that standard, oral multivitamin supplements are the solution and hence take vitamin, minerals or herbal supplements. But the typical oral supplement may not deliver its complete therapeutic prospective. Enzymes in the digestive system can degrade the supplements. On their own, potent antioxidants may not be able to efficiently cross cell membranes.
CoQ10 supplementation can be challenging as a lipid molecule, CoQ10 is best digested with fats and suffers poor absorption in water. Less than 1% of simple CoQ10 powder is absorbed. Similarly, the breakdown of glutathione, our bodies' most powerful intracellular antioxidant, in the stomach greatly reduces its oral delivery.
In order to offer health advantages, vitamins and minerals need to reach the target tissue of action. Supplements and functional foods, as well as related health claims, require high bio-availability. Many aspects affect bio-availability, including digestive problems, low stomach acid, and low uptake of a nutrient.
In addition, supplements themselves vary in amounts of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants they offer sometimes more than the recommended daily amount and sometimes lesser. Products are available in many forms such as powders, liquids, tablets, capsules, chewable and gummy candies, all of which result in variable amounts.
Enter Liposomal Delivery Systems: Taking a Cue from Nature
The word liposomal is derived from the Greek words ‘lipo’ meaning fat and ‘soma’ meaning body. Liposomes are spherical "sacs" made up of a double ring of fatty acids molecules called phosphatidylcholine. The spherical ‘sac’ can be used to enclose and deliver whatever it contains directly into the cells and body tissues.
The cell membrane, which is composed of phospholipids like the liposome, easily blends with the liposome's phosphatidylcholine, incorporating into the cell via a fusion and 'blending' process, allowing the liposome's enclosed active substance to be easily included into the cell where it can readily provide benefit.
The body in fact naturally produces liposomes around ingested nutrients using phosphatidylcholine. This process takes time, while providing nutrients contained with liposomes speeds up the absorption process for the nutrient. Timing of the dosage does not require accompaniment of food as the absorption via the liposome avoids the digestive processes.
There are benefits of the liposomal delivery system for supplements. The water soluble and fat-soluble active ingredients can be liposome-encapsulated and delivered to cells. The phospholipid membrane protects the enclosed substance from deprivation and getting lost in the digestive tract.
By this it means that the liposomal delivery will benefit those with digestive issues who may not be able to absorb nutrients readily. Any digestive side effects can also be avoided by consuming liposomal supplements. The natural lipids are compatible with human tissue and are not toxic or foreign by the body. Liposomal delivery system permits direct and efficient delivery of nutrient to the cells.
Ordinary or traditional non-liposomal products generally have low absorption and bio-availability and this fact is clinically well documented. Liposome science allows improved nutrient absorption and higher bio-availability and similar to other liposomal products, dry powder liposomal products allow this enhanced bio-availability.
Liposomal delivery is particularly useful for nutrients such as magnesium, Vitamin C, glutathione and curcumin. The primary advantage of liposomal supplements is delivery of larger dosage directly to the cells. In the case of Vitamin C, it can be very beneficial in situations where you have to take higher dosage leading to diarrhoea or other digestive issues.
Dry liposomal powders have other benefits over liquid liposomal products, including neutral taste, longer shelf life and doesn’t include other undesirable substances such as preservatives and flavorings. They can provide high-quality, readily bioavailable nutrients for direct and immediate use by the body.
Liposomal supplements are a type of nutrient delivery system that has a high rate of uptake and effective delivery into cells. Liposomes are highly effective at facilitating antioxidant delivery, and they are biocompatible and nontoxic because they are made from natural phospholipids.
Since they protect therapeutic molecules from breakdown in the digestive system, liposomal delivery systems are becoming increasingly popular for nutraceuticals. Liposomes can increase intracellular delivery 100-fold in cell culture studies when compared to non-liposomal delivery.

When it comes to bioactive agents that have therapeutic or preventive effects and patient compliance, oral administration is frequently the best option. The harsh environment of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, on the other hand, can reduce the solubility, stability, and absorption of oral bioactive agents.
An individual should have adequate uptake of bioactive compounds such as vitamins and nutrients, to derive beneficial effects on the body. As a result, previous researchers have created structurally complex formulations to improve physical stability, protect active ingredients from degradation, and provide controlled release during digestion to improve absorption and bioavailability, but it still doesn’t provide the complete benefits.
Liposomal delivery system encapsulates bioactive compounds and increases the solubility and bio-availability of the supplements when administrated by the oral route. Encapsulating nutrients in liposomes is an excellent strategy for increasing bioavailability and ensuring that the majority of nutrients reach the cells for effective treatment.
Compared to traditional oral formulations, liposomal nutraceuticals and health supplements have numerous advantages. The following are some of them:
Vitamin C can benefit from encapsulation (also known as "liposomal vitamin C"), since the hydrophilic nature of these molecules makes it easier for vitamin C to dissolve within the aqueous center of liposomes. Liposomal vitamin C offer several advantages over their traditional counterpart:
In summary, liposomal vitamin C is the most effective method for achieving the daily vitamin C requirement. The use of liposomes to encapsulate vitamin C overcomes all of the difficulties that conventional vitamin C faces and prevents the risks of intravenous injection.
Magnesium, like vitamin C, does not pose a significant health risk in large doses and the surplus is excreted into the urine by the kidneys. Magnesium deficiency is very uncommon. However, there is a disorder known as magnesium deficiency that cannot be overlooked. Magnesium absorption can be hampered by inflammatory bowel disorders. Since they are less able to consume and excrete magnesium, older adults are more likely to have a magnesium deficiency.
In general, only 35-55% is absorbed, depending on the type of magnesium. If the amount is divided ideally or combined with meals, this can still improve. If too much magnesium is consumed, a smaller proportion will be taken up. With the introduction of liposomal delivery of magnesium there are various benefits that took into play:
A Closer Look at Liposomal Supplements
There are definitely key advantages with liposome products such as
There's no denying that well prepared liposomal products enhance nutrient absorption both systemically and cellular. Biocompatible liposomes absorb into the mouth and lymphatic system, affecting systemic circulation in a manner that only intravenous therapies might before. Furthermore, lymphatic transmission via liposomes avoids the liver's first-pass metabolism, increasing oral bioavailability.
With strong lecithin loads and low-to-medium shear processes, nutritional manufacturers have created gel-phase products with very large diameter particles and a wide variety of sizes, usually 400 to 1000 nm. 2 They can also be made with rotor-stator dispersion systems, which contain a milky liposomal solution with particles varying in size from 200 to 400 nm.
Refined chemistry and high-shear machines provide smaller liposomal spheres and emulsions, which, of course, comes at an expense in terms of processing. However, the larger spheres are less bioavailable than the smaller liposomes, leaving the user with a less efficient but still costly product. Smaller liposomes are much efficient at intracellular delivery than larger liposomes.
Furthermore, the therapeutic capabilities of a liposomal delivery system are attributed to how rapidly the body extracts the liposomes from the bloodstream. It's no surprise that clearance is inversely proportional to size, with smaller liposomes and micronized emulsions circulating in the blood for the longest time. Larger liposomes are recognized as foreign agents by immune system macrophages and are cleared from the bloodstream more quickly.
Liposomal formulations are extremely beneficial to glutathione. Immune system responses can be restored with liposomal glutathione. Liposomal technology is also ideal for a water-soluble antioxidant like Vitamin C, as it increases blood levels more effectively than traditional oral supplements. Our most powerful lipid-soluble antioxidant, coenzyme Q10, also benefits from liposomal formulation. Liposomal formulations containing high-quality complex mixtures of pure compounds and botanicals provide excellent efficacy and ease of use.
Despite the fact that many liposomal products claim to improve bioavailability, few are able to deliver the increased absorption that these formulations can provide. Many natural substances' bioavailability, absorption, and cellular uptake can be dramatically improved with sophisticated, well-designed lipid nanoparticle delivery systems. Phosphatidylcholine, which makes up the membrane of lipid nanoparticles, also feeds the lipid membranes of cells, providing phospholipids that can help with cellular repair.

]]>While the vaccine is being rolled out, these experts are asking the government to advise the country to take Vitamin D while also adhering to other safety measures.
The experts from Ireland's leading universities have appealed to the Government to issue updated guidelines for all Irish adults on Vtamin D supplements which, they say, can significantly reduce the risk of infection, serious illness and death from Covid-19.
They also highlight emerging evidence from Andalucia in Spain, where a public health initiative to supplement all vulnerable groups including those in care homes with Vitamin D coincided with a fall in daily Covid-19 death rates from 60 per day in mid-November to just three per day by the first week in January.
Experts such as Prof. Declan Byrne, clinical director at St James Hospital and Prof Rose Anne Kenny principal investigator of TILDA say Irish people are already lacking in Vitamin D as it is and now they are urging the Department of Health to increase its current Vitamin D guidelines to the general adult population for a daily intake of 20-25 micrograms to build protection against the virus.
During another study in France, they found that 83 per cent of those who got Vitamin D before leaving hospital were still alive five weeks later whereas in the group who didn't get Vitamin D in hospital, only 44 per cent survived
With all this in mind Healthy Buzz want to ensure our customers receive all the information they need to stay healthy and protect themselves from viruses. Pre Covid we would have always advised our customers to take Vitamin D daily but now it is more important than ever to protect yourself and the people you love!
For children a minimum daily amount of 400 IU is required up to age 12, a minimum 600 IU for adults and a minimum 800 IU for people age 70 and over but with recent research, experts are now saying a Vitamin D amount of 1000 IU is the best way protect yourself from the virus.
Luckly we have a range of Vitamin D sprays and supplements HERE on our website.
To read up more about the linkage between Vitamin D and Covid 19, see article from Breaking News HERE and RTE HERE.
]]>Here at Healthy Buzz we are only starting to find time for ourselves and enjoy the festive season with our loved ones.
One thing we are LOVING right now is our weekday swims! If your thinking of going for a dip in the sea... JUST DO IT!
Did you know that cold water swimming activates temperature receptors under the skin that release hormones such as endorphins, adrenaline and cortisol. Release those positive hormones and feel better physically and mentally! It can also help with physical body pain and skin discomfort.
We are also loving these Winter Wellness packs. Vitamin D has become a front runner in keeping your family healthy during these times, so check out our packs below and if you haven't started “spraying” your child's mouth with vitamin D every morning before school - get on it! They are so handy to use and I believe they are one of the big the reasons we are staying healthy at Healthy Buzz.
Happy Shopping & see you at the beach

]]>Stress management is so important, particularly during this time of year when we are trying to finish work deadlines for Christmas and not to forget the family commitments while also balancing Covid 19 restrictions.
]]>It can become overwhelming balancing work and family life while also making time for yourself and other interests. Add the stress of a pandemic and not being able to see friends and family and you've got yourself mentally and/or physically unwell - you must make stress management a priority!
We hear a lot of people say 'your health is your wealth' but it truly is. If your brain and body is not kept well and healthy, everything around us will not stay well and healthy. We put so much money into looking after our physical appearance with new clothes, make up or getting our hair done and often forget to invest in our wellbeing!
Stress can also have a huge effect on how we feel physically or mentally without us even knowing. We recommend taking Vitamin B and Magnesium as they both reduce stress levels and are important for balancing out depressive moods. See HERE our capsules for Vitamin B and HERE for Magnesium.
Stress is an overwhelming amount of pressure and we often feel stressed because we have more commitments than normal or the commitments we currently have are taking up a lot of space in our heads.
When you feel stressed, the best way to manage this is to first identify what is causing you this stress! Is it work, is it an argument you've had with someone or is it financial pressure? After you have identified the stressful issue, see what steps you can take to relieve this pressure. It may be delegating workloads or just speaking to someone close to you.
Although we all get stressed from time to time, learning to manage your stress can be an amazing skill to help you going forward!
Here are some of our top tips for stress management:
I know we sound like a broken record! BUT exercise has proven in study after study as being one of the best medicines for stress. Sometimes it is so difficult to squeeze in a class at the gym or going to your local sports club but even a long walk or jog can help relieve stress.
Getting the right vitamins, nutrients and of course water is vital to improving your mood. Vitamin D and Vitamin C is so important to keeping your mental health well and can sometimes be difficult to consume in our foods and from the sun.
Vitamin D can help with regulating your mood and help ease stress and with our lack of sunshine here in Ireland, it is important to take vitamins to ensure you are getting enough!
Check out our Vitamin D oral spray HERE.
Vitamin C is great at helping with stress and anxiety, in some studies it has also shown to help with depression. Again this is another vitamin most of us are lacking! To stock up today, check out our Vitamin C HERE.
The way we speak to ourselves can be so damaging if most of it is just negative! Remind yourself that you are doing great and your only human. Everyone makes mistakes and not everything can be done right now. Give yourself some time to relax and take the pressure off yourself.
Each day you should take a couple of minutes to appreciate yourself. Act as if you are your own best friends, be kind and supportive.
